Responsibilities

The main purpose would be to design casings and secondary structures for our rockets electronic systems considering mass budget and thermal design. Collaborate with manufacturing department to create prototypes.

More specifically, you will:

  • Be responsible for mechanical design of the high-pressure gas and fluid systems
  • Perform trade-offs of different design and component options
  • Manage budgets in terms of mass and package, interfacing with all teams
  • Select and coordinate with suppliers
  • Handle integration of design into overall launch vehicle
  • Support engineers to design components according to manufacturing constraints
  • Generate technical drawings
  • Help to improve design for cheaper/faster manufacturing
  • Be responsible for creating production documentation (schematics / assembly plans)

Profile

Must have:

  • MSc in System Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Extensive CAD working knowledge
  • System ownership and good understanding of system design
  • Practical work experience in a similar role
  • Passionate about new space, curious and eager to learn
  • Driven to deliver and consonantly push the boundaries
  • Take ownership and accountability for your own actions and mistakes
  • Humble and willing to go out of your way to help others
  • Can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills
  • Fluent English. German is highly preferred

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge about rocket engines or structures
  • Hands-on skills like tube bending, machining etc.
