Responsibilities

Rocket Lab is the global leader in small satellite launch, and we have taken on some exciting new programs including a mission to the moon for NASA and recover and re-usability of Electron. With all these programs underway, our team is growing, we are seeking a high performing Software Engineer to lead the production automation team. We need to ensure efficiencies throughout the entire chain of our vertically integrated service delivery and a key link is the production and assembly of Electron. Through the optimal use of modern techniques and systems, Rocket Lab’s Production Automation Software helps assure the quality of all manufactured and assembled components of our vehicles. The Production Automation Team Lead will provide vision, leadership, and project coordination to the Production Automation Software Team in support of the Electron launch vehicle and Photon spacecraft.

Profile

Essential Skills

  • Tertiary Diploma, Certificate or degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or similar.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience within a software engineering related discipline
  • Experience with leadership of software development staff
  • Product definition and development experience
  • Software development experience using C/C++, Python
  • Linux application development
  • Experience with Git
  • Experience with Redmine, Jira or other issue tracker

Desirable skills

  • Agile/Scrum
  • Networked application development
  • Database application development
  • Experience with User Interface development
  • Experience with Web application development
