Our Electronics Product Group is rapidly expanding and we are continuing to live up to our reputation as a reliable suppler with a long heritage in electronics. Our Denver, CO office electronics group will be responsible for managing complex systems with different suppliers and with long product life times. We are continuing to provide complete avionics electronics coupled with an open architecture with standard links and buses allowing future evolution. This group will be responsible for satellite and launcher computers, navigation receivers & signal processing, microwave, antenna, and power & drive electronics.

RUAG Space USA (RSU) has an immediate opening for a Senior FPGA Developer/Engineer out of our Denver, CO location. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of the world’s leading aerospace customers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for definition, design, verification and documentation for FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) developments.
  • Determines architecture, system simulation and detailed design approach.
  • Defines module interfaces and all aspects of devise design and simulation.
  • Evaluates the process flow including but not limited to high level design, synthesis, place and route, timing and power utilization.
  • Creates test and simulation plans that establish functional criteria, verifies test results and analyzes performance.
  • May also review vendor capabilities, foundry technologies, device libraries and simulation tools.
  • Contributes to the generation and maintenance of work products (i.e. plans, specifications, design documentation, etc.) used for internal consumption and/or deliverable to external customers.
  • Develops and presents requirements, concepts, designs, decisions and results to internal management, other organizations, team mates and customers.
  • May contribute to technical subcontract management that may include SOW development, proposal evaluation, source selection, technical oversight, and subcontractor work product evaluation and acceptance.
  • Reviews vendor capability to support product development.
  • Participates in the improvement of the FPGA organizational processes.
  • Leads the research and analysis of data, such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • This position will also be responsible for working with our international counterparts in Europe.

Profile

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of FPGA engineering and processes.
  • Due to the nature of work performed and ITAR requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to multi-task amidst rapid change.
  • Hardware verification experience including, test procedure development, robustness testing & debug.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.
