Responsibilities

Purpose of Position

  • Provide financial leadership and advisory services for the costs across GDLS-UK, constantly flexing the business as required to ensure we operate at an affordable and profitable operating level. In this role, partner with the Vice President’s to drive required cost disciplines across the organization, and recommend approaches to enable us to maintain competitive in our industry. Lead executive cost control meetings to review recommended cost control actions and ensure timely implementation of decisions of this body.
  • Additionally, drive effective direct cost savings across the business and ensure we effectively monitor and track these targets/achievements. Proactively anticipate and develop solutions, both tactical and strategic, to meet senior management issues and problems. Regularly brief VP/CFO and Managing Director/President, and VP Operations of status, initiatives, and risks/opportunities.
  • Manage/lead finance process improvements to ensure effective and efficient processes are in place to support the business. Utilise lean, six sigma or other process improvement methodologies to drive more effective and efficient processes across finance (and the business) as required. Continued participation in company-wide business improvement team (BIT) initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for all Financial related matters for the operations finance function.
  • Member of Senior Management Team with responsibility for decision making and strategy.
  • Effective business partnering with the VP
  • Drive operational budgets and forecasting
  • Create standard KPI’s to track performance
  • Develop and implement compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures.
  • Orchestrate the provision of financial information and reporting to senior management, making recommendations where appropriate.
  • Undertake all other duties that may be required with the general level of responsibility of this role.

Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Critical requirement for strong stakeholder skills within both finance and non finance team members
  • Experience of working within a fast pace environment
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Strong communication across all business levels
  • Team management through secession plans, coaching and setting performance standards
  • Must have American Accounting Experience including processes and procedures
  • International accounting experience is desirable
  • Requires degree level education and significant staff and/or technical project/process management experience, or equivalent
