Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Project Manager to work at NATO NCIA in Latina.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Section Head Project Management (SLA), the incumbent will perform duties such as the following:

  • Prepares technical specifications, engineering designs, and indications of costs for building maintenance and remodelling projects;
  • Advises the NCISS Commandant on all matters concerning occupational H&S;
  • Provides engineering/H&S support to infrastructure projects, as required;
  • Assists and supervises contractors in execution of projects;
  • Inspects Work sites and takes corrective actions in the case of faults or defective workmanship taking into account procedures and measures aimed at safeguarding individual health and safety, in accordance with international and/or host-nation regulations;
  • Inspects construction work projects for progress, compliance to include H&S regulations, possible cost-saving modifications, partial payment certification, provisional and final acceptance;
  • Supervises correction or modification of special installations, such as air-conditioning plants, power cabins, electric panels, circuit breakers, emergency generators, heating plants, etc. with a focus on compliance with H&S regulations;
  • Ensures that projects and works executed are in line with Host-Nation legislation and MOD Directives;
  • As directed, assembles and presents for the School’s management endorsement, the infrastructure Mid-Term Financial Plan (MTFP) and the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) requirements;
  • Liaises with Host-Nation government and military Agencies in connection with engineering construction and health & safety matters;
  • For this reason, knowledge of the Host Nation language is desirable.

Profile

  • University Degree in civil engineering or related discipline and 2 years function related experience, or a Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in that discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional;
  •  Accreditation with 4 years post related experience;
  • A minimum of two years’ professional experience as a civil engineer;
  • Experience supervising/inspecting construction works;
  • EU-compliant certification in the field of health & occupational/ environmental safety;
  • Extensive knowledge of H&S EU and Host Nation Regulations;
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office suite and computer applications in the field of engineering/blueprinting;
  • Experience in international/military infrastructure management, programming, procedures and applications;
  • Experience with European health and safety programs. Chartered Engineer;
  • Must to hold a NATO Secret Security Clearance;
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of another NATO member-state language is an asset.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU.
