Sapienza Consulting, a tpgroup company, is recruiting a Technical Implementation Engineer (Infrastructure) to join NATO – NCIA in Mons, Wallonia, Belgium.

Responsibilities

• Line management will be under Infrastructure (Platform)
• Task management will be given by the Service area owner Infrastructure Branch
• Coordinate and support the technical deployment of network core and client infrastructure
• Assist main account holder by maintaining support efforts of property accounting (CIS) including pickup, disposal and distribution to NATO NCSC T2/3 sites
• Coordinate with NCSC Service Delivery Management Section to ensure all components are correctly registered in the NCSC CMDB
• Assure timely delivery and high quality of deliverables
• Maintain communications with internal and external stakeholders

Profile

Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret

Essential experience

• Datacom’s cabling part 1 (City & Guilds 3466-04) or BTec as a minimum
• Fibre Optic installation and testing (City & Guilds 3466-02 & 03) or BTEC as a minimum
• Experience working in a Data Centre environment
• Good knowledge of Data Centre cabling infrastructure, Datacentre documentation (room layout, physical and logical configuration)
• Network documentation (Visio networking diagrams L2 and L3). Cable management, cable tracing, cable labelling, cable documentation
• Installation, configuration, testing & diagnostics. Infrastructure Solution design, proposal & implementation
• Installation, termination and testing of copper CAT6A systems. Installation of fibre optic cabling (fusion splicing experience and advantage)
• Installation and testing of pre-terminated fibre optic cabling (OM3, OM4 and single mode)
• Experience of NATO Technical documentation writing (detailed state description of physical and logical configuration in datacentre environment
• Datacentre documentation (room layout, physical and logical configuration)
• Operations environment experience (processes in OPS)
• Change management processes (preferably NATO ITSM experience)

Highly desirable experience

• Experience of the installation, implementation and testing of network security equipment, particularly Cisco NW infrastructure
• Proven ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills
• Proactive attitude in seeking and maintaining trust from stakeholders
• Able to work productively in a fast moving environment
• A minimum of 3 (three) years of experience as an engineering team leader
• Proven ability to operate on own initiative
• Domain knowledge in cyber security area in a leadership role
• Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
• Certifications: Networking qualifications (Cisco, RSA etc) (desired), ITIL foundation (mandatory)
