Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Chief Technician (LAN) to join NATO – NCIA in Mons, Wallonia, Belgium.

Responsibilities

  • Contribution to current and future LAN projects in the Core Campus network including Engineering assignments (e.g. design, testing, implementation, documentation, HLD and LLD, etc.)
  • 3rd level Support on Local Area Network (LAN) related assignments in the Core Campus network
  • Coordinate with sites to implement LAN elements centralization, standardization and best practices
  • Maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures as per guidelines
  • Operate provided management toolsets and capabilities
  • Ensure a common understanding of the available toolsets and method of utilization within the centralized and distributed user base
  • Solve Incidents and Problems related to the LAN infrastructure
  • Create and maintain network diagrams using various tools and applications such as Microsoft Visio
  • When required, coordinates on-site surveys, validations and system acceptance testing into the Local Area Network infrastructure

Profile

  • A currently active NATO SECRET security clearance is required
  • University degree in a field related to the function of the post
  • Or exceptionally, the lack of a university/college degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or at least 10 years extensive and progressive expertise in the duties related to the function of the post
  • At least 7 years of experience in design, implementation, maintenance and operation of large complex multi-vendor IP communications networks and related equipment
  • Proven design and automation experience with Cisco DNA Center
  • Proven SD-Access, Fabric and brownfield/greenfield deployment experience
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Identity Management: Dot1X, NAC, ISE, Radius, Tacacs+, Cisco TrustSec, PKI
  • Experience with Core campus related technologies: STP (Spanning Tree Protocol), VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network), FHRP (First Hop Redundancy Protocol), SNMP (Simple Network Management protocol), ACL (Access Control Lists), QoS (Quality of Service), IGMP (Internet Group Management Protocol), PIM (Protocol-Independent Multicast), VRF (Virtual Route Forwarding), LACP (Link Aggregation Control Protocol), LAG (Link Aggregation Group), VSS / Stackwise virtual, IPV6 (Internet Protocol version 6) network technologies and concepts
  • Good knowledge of automation and shell scripting such as bash, PowerShell
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools (e.g. HP Network Automation, Splunk, Spectrum);
  • Knowledge of routing and IP protocols: OSPF, BGP, IPv6, multicast
  • Basic understanding of server virtualization (VMware, vSphere) for performing local tasks
  • General understanding of MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), Video, Voice
  • Understanding of Firewall, Intrusion Detection System, IPSec (Internet Protocol Security), VPN (Virtual Private Network) technologies and concepts
  • Experience with Windows Server 2012 and Linux operating systems

 

Level of knowledge shall be equal or higher than:

  • CCNP: Cisco Certified Network Professional
  • CCDP: Cisco Certified Design Professional

 

It will be considered as asset if you hold the following certifications:

  • Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation or Higher
  • VMWare certification
  • Any other IT industry network certifications
