Sapienza Consulting, a Serco company, is recruiting a JTS/FAST Documentation Writer to join NATO – NCIA in The Hague, South Holland, Netherlands.

The NATO Information and Communication Agency (NCI Agency) located in The Hague, The Netherlands, is currently involved in the development of new capabilities for NATO as well as in the support of existing capabilities. In the light of these activities, the Command and Control Centre is looking for ONE technical documentation writer.

More specifically, the work will support the full software development cycle of the NATO Joint Targeting System (JTS) and Functional Area Services for dynamic and time-sensitive Targeting (FAST).

Responsibilities

Migrating and Improving JTS/FAST documentation

Under the direction/guidance of a technical lead, the documentation writer will migrate the JTS/FAST documentation from Microsoft Word to XML based tool (e.g. Oxygen). This includes the following activities:

• Migrate documentation (e.g. Software Installation Procedures, Software Administration Manual and Software User Manual)

After migration, the documentation writer will improve the JTS/FAST documentation to be easier to read from a formatting and English point of view.

The work will be carried out accessing the engineering/test facilities in the NCI Agency The Hague, NLD. These facilities consist of all necessary development platforms, servers, web servers, etc. to support the documentation maintenance

Coordinate and report on activities

The contractor will be part of a team (project manager, technical lead, software developers, etc.) geographically distributed and will work using an Agile and iterative approach using multiple sprints.

This includes the following activities:

• The contractor shall update the status of the JTS/FAST documentation tasks in JIRA, and JTS/FAST documentation in the JTS/FAST configuration management tool.
• Attend virtual and in-person meetings

Profile

The consultancy support for this work requires a documentation writer with the following qualifications:

• The candidate has a NATO SECRET security clearance, provided by the national security organization valid at the time of submission of the bid covering the period of the requirement
• The candidate has relevant and recent experience in using documentation tools (e.g. Microsoft Word and Oxygen)
• The candidate has relevant and recent experience in methodologies (e.g. Agile) and tools (e.g. JIRA)
• The candidate has relevant and recent experience in continuous documentation and software integration
• The candidate is able to speak and write fluent English since the work is conducted in English
• The candidate must have the nationality of one of the NATO nations

Practical experience in the following areas is also desired:

• The candidate has relevant and recent experience in system and software administration documentation writing
• The candidate has relevant and recent knowledge and usage of JTS and FAST
• The candidate has relevant and recent experience in supporting the NATO Joint Targeting Cycle (e.g. Targeteer)
