Sapienza Consulting is recruiting an HR Application Support Engineer  to join NATO – NCIA, at Mons, Belgium.

Responsibilities

Supporting in-service operations of systems, including:

  • Support and operation of assigned system(s) including Systems operationally used by ACO and NCIA (for example APMS, AMIS, NSTEP)
  • Local systems currently used by SHAPE Base Support Group (ISIPS, SHAPE Housing, MTM)
  • Maintenance of operational & support environments
  • Monitoring of performance of assigned service applications
  • Support CIS Support Units (CSU) and other support staff for daily operations of systems
  • Support technical reviews, walkthroughs and audits
  • Contribution to service application enhancement & transition for assigned service applications
  • Provision of professional and technical contributions in conception, development and co-ordination related to all aspects of software development within SL projects or services
  • Provision of input to preparation of functional and technical specifications for software and hardware with special focus on SSBA SL domain
  • Support to change management, configuration management, release and testing
  • Provision of subject matter expertise and advice as required
  • Performing other duties as may be required

Profile

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in the field of computer science or electronic engineering
  • Experience in offering support to applications
  • Experience in software design and programming techniques and methodologies
  • Experience with programming languages and platforms like .NET, C#, JAVA, JavaScript
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration, optimization and querying
  • Experience in human resource (HR) IT applications related to personnel, posts, organisations, identity management and badges
  • Experience (at least two years) in various areas of Software Engineering including some of following
  • Requirements elicitation and management (including non-functional requirements for Operations & Maintenance)
  • SW change management and testing
  • Application release and deployment management
  • Configuration management practices and tools
  • Application Lifecycle Management concept and tools
  • Knowledge and experience in state-of-the-art technologies, relevant to software engineering
  • Technologies and standards (at least 4 of them): HTML5, REST Services, Web Services, XML, SQL, Visual Basic for Applications
  • Application server technologies and Relational data base management systems
  • Ability to work in cross functional teams like Application management/development team
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with good briefing skills
  • Ability to be deployed, if required, to NATO Missions
  • Must hold Security Clearance NATO Secret
  • Fluent business English; knowledge of another NATO member-state language is an asset

Desirable Experience and Education

  • Knowledge of NATO HR processes
  • Knowledge of post related applications like ISIPS, APMS, AMIS, NSTEP
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint applications and their administration
  • Cloud computing, SaaS, knowledge of Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with data modelling of complex systems
  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
  • Design and implementation of Human Machine Interfaces
  • Design patterns
