About this job

The client offers greenhouse gas detection, measurement, and monitoring services to industrial and government customers around the world. Using their own satellites and aircraft sensors, combined with third-party data, to help industrial emitters better understand, control, and reduce their emissions. Their capability is unique: providing high-resolution, local measurements of atmospheric methane and carbon dioxide concentration from space. This further enables to detect greenhouse gas emitters and to visualize and quantify their emissions. Having launched a second satellite, we are looking for a business-minded account manager to convert opportunities into revenue. Reporting to the VP, Sales & Marketing, the Account Manager will adopt a hands-on customer relationship growth approach, and together we will focus on generating business from new customers. This role will be based out of Houston, Texas. The client offers a creative and highly motivating work environment. Responsibilities

  • Close deals – convert qualified opportunities into revenues
  • Customer development – work customers from first contact, through awareness-building, generation of interest, decision-making and action.
  • Sales process – lead the internal team in preparing proposals, managing technical and commercial exchanges, negotiating contracts, closing sales, and ensure after-sales support
  • Keeping up on trends, changes, and competitor actions.
  • Sales and marketing channel maintenance – work with the Sales Director and VP Sales & Marketing to maintain and grow the sales and marketing network, both within your region or sector, and across the business.
  • Travel locally and internationally (average 1 week per month) for conferences, meetings, etc. (COVID-19 restrictions apply).

Profile

Must haves:

  • Business and technical understanding of oil & gas operations, particularly regarding oil & gas production
  • Understanding of greenhouse gas emissions initiatives in the oil & gas industry and the value of emissions mitigation in the current environment
  • Strong sales and interpersonal skills, verbal, and written communication
  • Team player: collaborative and open
  • Independent and driven, able to operate under tight deadlines

Strong experience with negotiations, bids, tenders, contracts, and proposals

  • Flexibility, adaptability, autonomy, and multi-tasking ability
  • Career path with demonstrated success and increasing responsibilities, particularly in a sales and marketing role

Nice-to-haves:

  • Graduate degree in business, engineering, or sciences
  • Entrepreneurial energy and determination
  • Ability to work with team of highly qualified technical experts
  • Strong level of business acumen – understands what makes a business successful, and the interconnections of functions across the organization
  • Experience in scientific analysis, in atmospheric sciences, in remote sensing systems, and in space

Your background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or sciences
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in Sales and Business Development within the oil & gas industry
  • Fluent in English, French or Spanish an asset
  • Must be a US citizen
  • Must be able to obtain security clearance
