Sapienza has been retained by a high-profile organisation that is undertaking innovative partnership frameworks across Europe to support the exploration of advanced telecommunications, space, and ground segment technologies. The Programme Manager will work in close partnership with Space Agencies to bring innovative products, systems, and applications into the marketplace.

He/she will be a key member of the Program Management office, supporting a senior team of experts in the quest to execute and develop partnership programs and solutions. The Programme Manager will be integral to leading existing institutional programs and securing new programs. Responsible for the unique and complex PMO processes around schedule, cost/budget, risk, and program management, candidates should be motivated by innovative technology.

Responsibilities

Lead existing complex institutional programs across a diverse set of suppliers and internal stakeholders
Support the technology program and leadership team to identify and win new partnership opportunities with Space agencies
Lead the program proposal submissions and preparation of bids
Negotiate contract terms as required
Support the technology program and leadership team with program planning, task coordination, resource planning, and drive action items to closure
Interface with Space agencies and partners
Define and communicate priorities for our internal teams
Perform integrated Master Schedule tracking, maintenance and management on complicated programs
Lead key elements of the overall program plan, to include status reporting and issue & risk management

Profile

Strong program management skills, ideally in a relevant environment within the telecommunications or space industry, operating as part of a technical office, program office, or bid management team
Experienced in multi-stakeholder program teams
Demonstrated working knowledge and experience of program management disciplines
Excellent communications skills, both written and oral
Self-motivated and demonstrated ability to work independently
Experienced working in partnership management
A strong understanding of the UK and European space and telecommunications industry and the government bodies or trade associations in this field
Proven ability to understand complex contracts
Proficiency in World, Excel, PowerPoint and Project is essential, and strong knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications
Experience operating as a technical program manager
Experience of managing proposals and the creation of partnerships with Space agencies or government agencies
A relevant engineering degree in Telecommunications, or Engineering (Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical)
Adept at working in a multi-cultural, global environment
Knowledge of one or more European languages is desirable but not essential
You must be eligible to work in the UK.
