We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer _ C++ within Airbus Cyber Security in Newport, South Wales.

As the Senior Embedded Software Engineer – C++ you will report directly to the Software Team Lead for performing allocated Software Work Packages within agreed cost, time and quality constraints.

Responsibilities

  • All Software is developed following Airbus Defence & Space standards; all supporting documents are produced following Airbus Defence & Space standards.
  • Tools, methodologies and coding standards are applied to achieve project aims.
  • Technical design decisions are made within the context of known practices and acquired “technical” expertise.
  • The cost/benefits of design options are understood, empowering appropriate judgement calls to be made.
  • Software development plans can be estimated, and resource requirements can be allocated against plans.
  • The provision of technical guidance to fellow team members in software development tools and methodologies
  • The support of the development of essential components where decisions have a significant effect on project timescales.

This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

Profile

  • Have experience of software development and be familiar with several software development methodologies.
  • Have experience of software systems design and implementation for networking communications in a commercial or military environment
  • Have experience of partner engagement (e.g. for requirements analysis, design trade-offs, third-party certification/accreditation etc.)
  • Proficient in real-time software design in a resource constrained / embedded environment using C or C++.
  • Familiar with relevant design and architectural patterns.

UML.

  • Have an understanding of requirements implementation and traceability, and of work package definition and estimation.
  • Have successful experience working in a lead role.
