This newly created position with us will see you in as the privileged interface between the AIT Team and the EGSE Engineering Team to ensure the operational conditions of the EGSE systems for AIT operations. The role will act as a link between the EGSE Engineering Team and the AIT Team.

Working in close interaction with the AIT Functional Validation Lead in order to have the database deployed on time by the EGSE Engineering team (EGSE and satellite database). You will also be involved in Electrical Integration and Functional Validation activities as an AIT Electrical Operator when needed.

Responsibilities

During the AIT preparation phase, the role is responsible for:

Writing the EGSE procedures:

  • directly related to AIT operations (installation + autotest, coupling/decoupling, RF-SCOE calibration)
  • investigation procedures with the support of the EGSE Engineering Team.
  • Writing the EGSE wiki for AIT use.
  • Preparing the TVAC configuration, including cable preparation management in close integration with the EIL.
  • Providing training to operators on the usage of EGSE if/when necessary.

During the AIT operations phase, the role is responsible for:

  • Supervising on-site, the use of EGSE during nominal AIT operations by leading the activities in clean room for the EGSE related procedures (packing/unpacking, installation + autotest, coupling/decoupling)
  • Being the first point of contact of the AIT Team for on-site support.
  • Liaising with the EGSE Engineering Team when his knowledge of the system to not permit to solve an issue.
  • Coordinating with the EGSE Engineering Team the deployment of s/w evolution, database, libraries, antivirus, etc.
  • Following the calibration date and managing the calibration process (and validation when equipment are back in EGSE system).
  • Managing the packing/unpacking, installation, validation of the EGSE system when moving between test sites, including launch campaign.
  • Participating in activities as an AIT Electrical Operator when necessary.
  • Checking the completeness of the as-runs executed by himself/herself or by the operators.
  • Examining and synthesizing the results, writes test reports.
  • Writing AIT Change Requests (ACRs) when necessary for (NC, WR, etc.).
  • Interfacing with external stakeholders.

During the launch campaign phase, the role is responsible for:

  • Managing the packing/unpacking, installation, validation of the EGSE system.
  • Participating in activities as an AIT Electrical Operator when necessary.

Profile

Requirements for the Role:

  • University degree with an electrical background
  • Special CheckOut Equipment (RF SCOE) experience would ideal
  • Hands-on experience in electrical testing and testing hardware (preferably in space domain but we will also look at avionics)
  • Ability to organise and influence at all levels
  • Able to provide all tasks and outputs, typically defined within a work package description, in conformance to agreed scope budget and schedules.
  • Due to the nature of this position you will be required on site (Harwell)
