On behalf of our client we are looking for Senior Sales Engineering Specialist, who will contribute directly to the future success of the client. You will leverage your technical expertise and knowledge of our products, as they intersect with our customers’ needs, to define solutions key to their success. You will be backed by a technical team of the highest calibre in a supportive and team-oriented environment. In this new position, you be a critical member of the team responsible for continuing our amazing growth trajectory.

You will carve out new technical domains for the company as well as reinforce our strong market presence in technologies such as:

  • Quantum key encryption processing
  • Payload processing for specialized cameras
  • Software-Defined Radios (SDR)
  • On-Board Computers (flight controls)
  • Lunar lander robotic arm controllers
  • Lunar rover Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) computers
  • Innovative new products (Q-cards, IP Cores, daughterboards…)

Responsibilities

  • General:
  • Marketing: use rigorous, fact-based analysis to understand market needs, position clients’ products and services relative to competitive offerings, and target customers
  • Customer development: work customers from first contact, through awareness-building, generation of interest, decision-making and action
  • Specific:
  • Formulate and win customer agreement on technical solutions based upon an intersection of clients’ competencies and customer needs
  • Generate the costing for quotes and justify to customers
  • Identify and characterize technical risks and opportunities
  • Identify potential sub-contractors based on technical capabilities and project needs
  • Integrate their work and costs into the overall technical proposal
  • Review and negotiate technical aspects of contracts to facilitate formal agreements
  • Improve the accuracy and speed of our quotes by expanding our current costing metrics
  • Prospect new accounts at trade shows, through networking, and from customer-initiated contacts by explaining the strengths of clients’ technical solutions

Profile

  • 10 years of direct experience in design and development of mission-critical applications
  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, software, computer, or other relevant engineering field
  • Must be able to obtain Canadian government security clearance (essential)
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Strong knowledge of low-powered digital electronics, processors, FPGA, and embedded software for space applications
  • Experience in all phases of a program life cycle, including program planning and execution, requirements definition, design and development, manufacture, assembly, integration, and test
  • Experience with government space agency programs is desirable
