With nearly 200 employees on board in the UK and growth targets to double that and more over the next few years, we are looking for an ambitious person to join our Business Development and Sales Team to help achieve this.

As a Business Manager you will be at the forefront of the business growth, targeted on creating new customers and developing existing ones. AKKA UK already has a strong and established client base across Aerospace, Automotive and Rail along with growing areas in other industries as well.

The Business Manager will create and implement a strategy to identify and secure new business opportunities with new clients in your portfolio. You will be responsible for your own personal targets and developing the UK market with support from the wider group. Expected to travel frequently throughout the UK and overseas as required by the business.

Responsibilities

  • Analysing the market and customer base and searching for new customers / detecting the customer’s needs
  • Managing commercial relationships / writing proposals to meet customers’ requirements
  • Supporting business administration and ensuring proper execution of the contracts won
  • Research and generate sales leads / establish a portfolio of industry contacts
  • Manage the whole sales process including the production of a Business Development Plan for each sales opportunity / meet and exceed new business sales targets, both individually and as a team
  • Attend business seminars, networking events as the face of AKKA
  • Create both immediate and longer term strategic relationships

Profile

Below are some key points we are looking for although not absolute. We are looking for self-starters who can think outside the box and work independently with a background in some of the below;

  • Experience in working/developing business in a competitive consultancy environment
  • A solid expertise in the engineering activities and lifecycle
  • A strong track record of winning new business and producing new business revenue
  • Experience in generating own leads and managing the end to end sales process
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills / ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with strong attention to detail
  • 5 years’ relevant experience and a proven track record in a business development role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering or a scientific field, or equivalent experience
