Contract duration: Permanent employment contract, kick off expected September 2020

In support to one of ESA’s ongoing missions (expected to enter the B2 phase in Q3 2020) Sapienza is recruiting a Project Manager to be the point of contact for the Chemical Propulsion System supplier.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a project focal point towards the CPS subcontractor and relevant lower tier subcontractors
  • Manage all aspects of the CPS system, specifically accountable for schedule adherence, quality and delivery including related documentation and services.
  • Day to Day, manage the CPS supplier from:
    • Procurement contract / PO kick off to provide all deliverables, participate as required to lead progress meetings/ design reviews / production reviews including quality gates.
    • Lead deviation / waiver process, lead non-conformance process, manage performance reviews with the suppliers, support the change process, and manage supplier surveillance & performance improvement action plans
  • Maintain close communication and coordination with the operational teams at internal customer sites, maximising the empowerment of the teams in plant, ensuring the contribution of all functions contributing to the delivery of procured goods or services.
  • Contribute as required to the annual Supplier Evaluation Development (SED) process.
  • Identify the supplier risks and processes mitigation actions. Set short term recovery plans together with the relevant stakeholders.

Profile

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, ideally in engineering
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience in project management of the delivery of space systems
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good inter-cultural communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a heterogeneous team
  • Previous experience working on ESA missions will be considered a strong advantage
  • Fluent in English
  • Willing to obtain EU (or UK) security clearances if needed;
