About this job

  • To work on developing solutions within the Business Systems team, for use principally in Engineering and within other areas of the business.
  • To provide support to the business to ensure IT needs are met

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy and support a wide range of CAE applications, principally CAD, ECAD & PLM.
  • Writing software, documentation and operating manuals.
  • Researching and examining current and new applications
  • Consulting with users and capturing requirements
  • Testing and configuring applications to ensure that they operate reliably.
  • Where necessary, provide support to the Service Desk and Infrastructure Teams team to help resolve technical problems.

Other tasks as directed by the Head of IT or the Business Systems Team Manager

Profile

  • Qualification (O/A Level, BTEC/NVQ, Degree) in Computing, Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or equivalent

Computing qualifications an advantage but not required.

  • Proven experience with CAD, ECAD, CAE & PLM applications
  • Proven experience in full lifecycle software development and support.

Successful deployment of applications and business tools

Key Knowledge and/or experience of the following:

  • SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM
  • Mentor Graphics Xpedition
  • CAE applications such as FEA (MSC One, Nastran, Altair), AutoDesk Delcam, MatLab
  • Microsoft OSs
  • Developing and supporting applications in an engineering or technology industry.
  • An understanding of Software Development processes (e.g. Agile) and the full software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with the following languages: C#, SQL
