We are recruiting a Junior System Level Engineer for Sapienza to work on our Customers Site (EUROCONTROL-MUAC in Maastricht). The Junior System Level Engineer will participate in the development of architectural concepts and support the definition of the short and medium term evolution of the MUAC Air Traffic Management (MADAP) systems in the framework of the architectural concept.

Contract duration: 1-year agreement with a freelancer / self-employed consultant, with an expectation to start in November 2020. Extensions expected.

Responsibilities

• Assessment of technical change requests, and ensure that requirements, design, and subsystem interfaces are correctly specified.
• Support the transition process towards a service-oriented architecture (IaaS/PaaS/ATMDataAsAService). This architecture will integrate modern technologies from various domains; ICT, ATM, automation, data.

Profile

• Master’s degree in Aeronautics and/or IT from a leading University with Outstanding academic results;
• Academic background, with thesis and/or internship in modern SW Engineering.
• Affinity with Air Traffic Control Systems
• Specialisation in a domain such as Data Science / AI would be considered an advantage
• Generalist, capable to acquire new expertise rapidly.
• Ability to write high quality documents on complex subjects (sample will be requested)
• Autonomous, investigative, mature, social, patient
• Desire to work in a multi-cultural team
• Good team worker, positive and open minded, committed to getting a job done
• Hands-on approach
• Fluent in English;
