Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Senior Assistant – Configuration Manager (NS) to work at NATO NCIA in Northwood, UK.

Responsibilities

Under Section Head – Ops, Exercise, Plans, and Projects (NSO OPP 0010) incumbent will perform duties such:

• Responsible for Configuration Control related functions to administration and operations of assigned LAN Systems / Services including software licence management
• Ensures adequate and appropriate modification and maintenance of baseline reference documentation, records and drawings
• Provision of guidance and implementation oversight regarding development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Day-to-day Configuration Management activities in compliance with established Configuration Management Plan. These activities include: o Update, and oversee updating of, CMDB as unique source of all assets (e.g. services, applications, hardware infrastructure), all Configuration Items and their relationships. o Perform configuration control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audit tasks. o Ensure that impact and scope of proposed changes (RfCs) in terms of related Configuration Items are known prior to changes being authorised, that all Configuration Items in scope of change are fully controlled, and that all changes to ICT environment are recorded, adequately documented, and reflected accurately in CMDB. o Regular housekeeping tasks against CMDB. o Maintenance of Approved Fielded Product List (AFPL). o Maintains list of approved configuration changes in coordination with Change Manager. o Provision of management reports, impact analysis reports, and configurations status reports on regular basis
• Liaises with other stakeholders in order to renew software licences in accordance with extant customer agreements
• Liaise with NCI Agency CIS Configuration Control Board (CCB) for bi-directional information exchange on approved RfCs / CCPs
• Deputize for higher grade staff, if required
• Performs other duties as may be required

Profile

• Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
• Bachelor degree in relevant discipline equivalent and supplemented by relevant postgraduate qualifications. Exceptionally, lack of degree may be compensated by lower academic qualification combined with demonstration of particular abilities or experience of relevance to this post
• A relevant ITIL v3 certification beyond foundation
• 5+ years of experience as ITIL Change Manager or ITIL Configuration Manager
• Practical experience in usage of service management tools for Change and Configuration Management
• Have significant experience working (2+ yrs) with confederated CMDB structures (i.e. unified and consolidated CMDB build from different datasources) and using automated asset discovery tools
• Experience in operation of Change Advisory Boards

Desirable Experience and Education:

• Certification in Project Management (PRINCE2 Practitioner or Project Management Professional
• Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
• Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT
