Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Technician (Technical Support & CM) to work at NATO NCIA in Oeiras, Portugal

Responsibilities

Technician (Technical Support & CM) will directly support the Head of Service Support Section, under close technical coordination with the Head of Service Operations Branch, CSU Lisbon, for all CIS related activities. He/She will:

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge at system and sub-system level of CIS infrastructure of NCI Academy with emphasis on end user equipment, integration, build and verification aspects
  • Support implementation of Academy’s CIS configuration management by ensuring that all CIS assets to deliver services to NCI Academy are properly controlled using predominantly Cable Solve tool to maintain accurate configuration information on historical, planned and current state of assets
  • Manage accountability of all CIS assets distributed to NCI Academy users by development of hand Receipts with Microsoft Reporting Services
  • Cooperate with engineers and change management by performing CIS assets integration to ensure that only authorized items are used and only approved changes are made
  • Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting support of computer hardware, software, desktop / vdi applications, networks, and computers peripherals
  • Systems troubleshooting and support to include diagnosing, fixing, maintaining and upgrading hardware and software as well as desktop/vdi applications
  • Support Installation, operation and maintenance on the NCI Academy training networks for all end user projects and activities of the training facility
  • Provides Service support to software applications and tools used by instructors to maintain used systems supported
  • Maintains current knowledge of all technology assigned to NCI Academy (AFPL Software, Licenses Management, ITSM Management & Incident Response)
  • Support development of the CIS SOPs according with Agency good practices
  • Ensure that all relevant performance data is properly collected and stored
  • Develop knowledge transfer package required to train new Academy or CSU CIS staff
  • Performs other duties as may be required in all sites on the CSU Lisbon Area of Responsibility (AoR)

Profile

Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret

Candidate will be required to have demonstrable experience; he/she will have to be able to:

  • Rapidly contribute, based on recent experience on similar NATO projects
  • Demonstrate general up-to-date knowledge of operating systems, computer system architectures, client/server including VDI clients and LAN/WAN network concepts
  • Experience in ITSM Tool
  • Experience in ITIL Service Management framework (ITIL Foundation certification)
  • Configuration Control; IT Collaboration tools
  • Demonstrate recent experience on Management of IT infrastructure, including assets, power, and connectivity

Desired experience:

  • Degree in Computer Sciences or Electric Engineering / Telecommunications or similar
  • 6+ years of experience as IT Infrastructure Manager
  • Within his/her academic studies, vocational training or by supplementary formal training the incumbent should have proof of training
  • System administration, network and/or testing management
  • Familiar with CIS Agency best practices and procedures
