We are recruiting a Component Technology Engineer for Sapienza to work on our Customers Site ESTEC-ESA in Noordwijk. This role would be supporting the Directorate of Technology, Engineering and Quality, in the domain of Electromagnetics Components Data & Power Systems Engineering.

 

Responsibilities

  • Providing expert technical support and consultancy to ESA projects and programmes regarding passive components throughout all project phases
  • Participating in project reviews and evaluation of procurement proposals
  • Contributing to the definition of technology development requirements and work plans for the Agency’s technology programmes
  • Defining, initiating and managing R&D activities
  • Supporting technology domain-related standardisation activities (ESCC, ECSS)
  • Initiating and monitoring laboratory activities including preparation of test plans and reviews of test reports, hands-on laboratory activities as required
  • Contributing to the dissemination of the results of the activities performed and the transfer of knowledge across the Agency

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering or Physics or equivalent
  • 4 or more years of experience in EEE passive part engineering, preferably for space applications. By passive parts, it is understood components such as capacitors, resistors, inductors, connectors, transformers, wires and cables, cable assemblies, fuses, switches, relays, piezo-electric devices and thermistors and also RF passive devices such as circulators and isolators, attenuators, loads, couplers and dividers
  • Experience in general EEE support for Space projects would be an important additional asset
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of another ESA member-state language is an asset
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU
