Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Senior Technician (AirC2-BMD) to work at NATO NCIA in Ramstein, Germany.

Responsibilities

Under guidance of identified Line Manager, incumbent will perform duties such as:

  • Installs, operates and maintains assigned AMDC2 Systems and software, Databases and other Applications and ICT Platforms (IS), and stays abreast of latest developments in these areas
  • Supports applications and data integrity of assigned ICT Platforms (IS), supports IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM), Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Maintains liaison with other CSU internal units, Service Lines and other technical organizations
  • Documents the design and configuration of assigned applications and ICT Platforms (IS), and the required operating procedures
  • Implements procedures, tools and techniques for monitoring and managing performance of applications and ICT Platforms (IS), and provides reports as required
  • Monitors and reports on capacity of the assigned applications and ICT Platforms (IS)
  • Assists with, and implements, assigned project work packages
  • Directly supports the BMD Mission through participation in a BMD Duty Support
  • Shift, which may operate on a 24/7 basis; Shift work means that technician is not working normal 8 hour day (Mon-Fri), but 12 hours (can include weekends) following “special” shift schema – for example (schema can change):
    • Day 1 = day shift / Day 2 = day shift / Day 3 = night shift / Day 4 = night shift
    • Day 5 = compensation time / Day 6 = compensation time / Day 7 = compensation time / Day 8 = compensation time
    • Day 9 = Day 1 (cycle starts again)
    • Day shift = 9 am till 9 pm / Night shift = 9 pm till 9 am / Compensation time = free time (not at work)
  • Deputize for higher grade staff, if required
  • Performs other duties as may be required

Profile

  • Required Security Clearance: NATO Cosmic Top Secret
  • Please note that NATO SECRET security clearance is temporarily acceptable, so long as the required CTS clearance can be added later
  • Vocational training at higher level in relevant discipline, or equivalent, or Diploma of secondary education, and a minimum of 5 years post-related experience
  • Experience within area of Systems Administration of complex computer systems.
  • Knowledge of AirC2 systems
  • Ability to take initiative and flexible approach allowing incumbent to respond reliably and competently to changing requirements in a demanding environment
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English, with a proven ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to be responsive and sensitive to both external and internal customers and staff

 

Desirable Experience and Education:

  • Knowledge of ACCS
  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT
