Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Senior Technician Air Application Services to work at NATO NCIA in Ramstein, Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and logs actual service provided, compared to that required by service level agreements
  • Carries out agreed operational procedures of a routine nature
  • Contributes to maintenance, installation and problem resolution on a 24/7 basis or on call
  • Contributes, as required, to investigations of problems and faults concerning installation of hardware and/or software
  • This may require individuals to react and respond in a timely manner to CSU recall requests in order to support high priority tasks
  • Installs or removes hardware and/or software, and associated connections, using supplied installation instructions and tools
  • Following agreed procedures, identifies, registers and categorizes incidents on AAS systems
  • Gathers information to enable incident resolution and promptly allocates incidents as appropriate
  • Documents changes based on requests for change on AAS systems
  • Applies change control procedures
  • Applies tools, techniques and processes to administer, track, log, report on and correct configuration items, components and changes on AAS systems
  • Provides technical support within Air Command for AAS systems
  • Undertakes hardware and software fault diagnosis to identify, rectify and resolve service failures and restore critical AAS and related systems
  • Monitors AAS and related systems to identify policy, performance and interoperability issues recommending appropriate solutions to maintain effective service levels
  • Assists with equipment trials and validation testing of new software releases for AAS systems
  • Deputises for higher-grade staff, if required
  • Performs like duties elsewhere within the CSU as directed or mandated
  • Performs other duties as directed
  • Will be required to work 12 hrs shifts including weekends; Shift work means that technician is not working 8 working hours (Mon-Fri), but 12 hours (can include weekends) for example (schema can change):Day 1 = day shift / Day 2 = day shift / Day 3 = night shift / Day 4 = night shiftDay 5 = compensation time / Day 6 = compensation time / Day 7 = compensation time / Day 8 = compensation timeDay 9 = Day 1 (cycle starts again)Day shift = 9 am till 9 pm / Night shift = 9 pm till 9 am / Compensation time = free time (not at work)

Profile

  • Required Security Clearance: NATO Cosmic Top Secret
  • Please note that NATO SECRET security clearance is temporarily acceptable, so long as required CTS clearance can be added later
  • At least 2 years’ experience in last 5 years in an IT and communication systems support position.
  • Experience within area of Systems Administration of complex computer systems;
  • Intermediate knowledge of various operating systems (Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, Solaris).
  • Intermediate knowledge of networking
  • Intermediate level of Configuration Management
  • Intermediate knowledge of DNS / DHCP
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and Unix scripting
  • Basic knowledge of ITIL
