Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a DBA (MS SQL) to work at NATO NCIA in Brussels, Belgium.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the database infrastructure of the operational environment to ensure that the production environment is available
• Monitor performance of the different database components and implementation of the required measures ensuring an optimal performance and availability of the database services
• Assist with and implement assigned project work packages related to database infrastructure
• Define, implement and monitor backups of the different database systems
• Maintain the software baseline and performs the necessary upgrades
• Create and maintain relevant documentation of the different systems to include design documentation and standard operating procedures
• Analyse and resolve assigned L1 and L2 incident and problem tickets
• Advise on solution related to databases issues
• Maintain the inventory of the deployed components in the database field
• Stay abreast of the database technology currently in place and evolution of the database technology

Profile

• Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
• Good knowledge of Windows server technology and Active Directory (knowledge on Unix/Linux and asset)
• Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities to analyse database related problems and ability to think beyond the database space
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. SQL, PowerShell, Perl, Linux shell)
• Good awareness of access security and knowledge on security policies implementation
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server High Availability solutions (Availability Groups – FCI cluster)
• Knowledge of common ICT technologies, such as Active Directory, Group Policy, Antivirus, DHCP, DNS, VMWare
