Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Engineer (CIS / IT) to work at NATO NCIA in Brussels, Belgium.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expertise in the area of design and analysis of CIS architectures, equipment, and system technical specifications to meet the approved requirements, including security-related requirements.
  • Propose technical solution to support development of new CIS architecture or to upgrade existing one, mainly infrastructure and security related
  • Provide engineering evaluations and recommendations in the CIS architecture/design of existing network communications and IT equipment, and provides advice and assistance to resolve technical problems related to operation and systems integration
  • Ensure the inventory and versioning control of architectures and designs of CIS, including custodian of repository and access to it
  • Manage, plan, supervise coordination and review process of CIS architecture/design
  • Engage with relevant NATO HQ stakeholders, NCIA bodies and others as needed on matter relating to CIS equipment, CIS security, CIS support, operation and maintenance of CIS including staging, pre-production and production environments
  • Coordinate and support design, plan, and test for the implementation of network infrastructures and related applications, including security aspects and data
  • Provide support to security tests as part of the compliancy and verification of CIS security aspects
  • Plan, maintain and update test procedures throughout he lifecycle of CIS.
  • Provide support for implementation and test of network monitoring tools/applications and dashboards for Operations & Control as well as Alerting Systems
  • Coordinate discussion and elaborate on technical and security details of needed and approved solutions, in close coordination of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Prepare written technical documentation throughout the planning, implementation and security testing of CIS solutions. Working in close coordination with the CSU CIS Security Officer and CIS Security Principal Assistant as part of the CIS Service Design & Security (SD&S) Team
  • Work in close coordination and support the activity of the SD&S Team, which is also part of the CSU Brussels, Coherence Branch. Represent the SD&S Team in meetings and working groups as requested. Report to the SD&S Team Head
  • Perform any other duty as required

Profile

  • Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
  • General experience in all lifecycle aspects of Communication Information Systems (CIS) aimed at achieving effective system development and deployment, including security aspects. Sound technical knowledge on wide area networks, local area networks, and remote network connections
  • Ability to manage, coordinate and supervise activities as well as work as team player
  • Experience in development and use of Information Technologies (e.g. servers, switches, web technologies, encryption equipment, etc.). This must include range of activities involved in planning, organizing, coordinating, and assessing CIS related activities to accomplish assigned functions and tasks
  • Detailed knowledge of CIS architectural design as applied to computer systems and computer security
  • Experience in implementing CIS security criteria and associated applications, assessing effectiveness of security software, resolving problems
  • Knowledge of formal process for CIS security accreditation
  • Knowledge in developing technical policy level documents; in CIS and in services management
  • Formal Project Management certification at foundation level (e.g. PMP or PRINCE2)
  • Formal ITIL certification at least at foundation level
  • Experience with MS-Office Suite and Visio
  • 3-5 years’ experience (depending on educational background/degrees) in project management (preference PRINCE2) and technical coordination of engineering projects in areas of requirements specifications, architectural design, development, implementation, test and evaluation
  • Ability to work in team environments (as either contributor or coordinator)
  • Analytical, problem solving and clear verbal and written communication skills
