Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Junior Application Programmer – iFMP Java Software Developer to join EUROCONTROL-MUAC, at Maastricht, The Netherlands

Responsibilities

The Junior Application Programmer – iFMP Java Software Developer will support MUAC activities in the scope of the ATC2ATM programme at MUAC, in order to further develop and maintain the iFMP/RTTS application that is used in the flow management cell at MUAC. The iFMP is currently integrating new functionalities in order to continuously improve the balance between ATM demand and capacity provided by ATC. New technologies are being integrated, based on AI to support traffic flow management. The iFMP service is also being considered for supporting external partners in their operation.

Profile

  • Master Degree in Computer Science and/or IT from High School or University
  • Practical experience in analysing and discussing operational and technical specifications with relevant stakeholders
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and maintaining large-scale (>100k SLOC) software and documentation for operational use in accordance with recognized industrial safety standards
  • At least 2 years of practical experience in developing high-performance multi-threaded graphical client applications in Java in a Linux environment
  • Relevant and practical experience in developing messaging applications using broker technologies (ActiveMQ)
  • Relevant and practical practical experience in developing advanced OpenGL enabled java graphical interfaces, like JavaFx framework and Lucial Lightspeed
  • 5 years of relevant/broad experience as Java Developer, with provable competence in several domains
  • Relevant and practical experience in developing RMI service interfaces for data visualisation applications
  • Ability to work with a customer and team oriented approach in an international environment
  • Autonomous, investigative, mature, social, patient (Interview may be required)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Good team worker, positive and open minded, committed to getting a job done

Desirable Skills:

  • Background knowledge in ATC and/or ATFCM/ASM and understand concepts or tools like: Route Network, Controlled Sectors, CHMI tool, Air Traffic Flow Management, Demand – Capacity balancing, Controller Workload, Sector Capacity, Traffic Complexity, Airspace Management etc.
  • Ability to write high quality documents on complex subjects
