Sapienza Consulting, a tpgroup company, is recruiting a Technician (Database Admin) to join NATO – NCIA in Izmir, Turkey.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for database administration, CORE Systems software installation, software maintenance and local systems support (as required) of assigned Functional Services and stays abreast of latest developments in these areas
  • Responsible for the Patch Management and application deployment cycle, monitoring and troubleshooting of operating system patches / third party application deployments for Databases and Functional Services and their workstations
  • Assists assigned IaaS systems and resolve alerts and error conditions of Data Centres (Server Room), Storage Area Networks, Active Directory Management, Anti Malware solution administration and deployment
  • Responsible for management and operation of Virtual Infrastructure and frameworks/versions of software, including; VMWare Server and desktop virtualization, Hyper-V, networking systems and applications, SAN Switches, blade environments, and other integrated hardware/software
  • Assists management of System Centre Configuration Manager
  • Responsible for administration of Exchange servers
  • Assists for providing input to support the engineering of the CSU’s Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity Plans; implement and manage Backup/Recovery Solutions
  • Maintains liaison with other CSU internal units, Service Lines and other technical organisations
  • Responsible for the developing and maintaining of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for routine Functional Service administration tasks
  • Assists procedures, tools and techniques for monitoring and managing the performance of applications and provides reports as required
  • Assists with and implements assigned project work packages
  • Analyses and resolves/reports assigned level 1 and 2 incident and problem tickets

Profile

  • Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
  • Current in-depth knowledge and practical work experience of Microsoft Windows operating systems (latest versions) in a large scale LAN-based client-server environment, using Active Directory Services
  • Current knowledge and recent practical experience of mainstream hypervisors, Virtual Infrastructure
  • Server side scripting (Microsoft PowerShell)
  • Sound knowledge of the issues and techniques of information processing and web services
  • Experience with data management and storage facilities, including practical analytical experience of IT servers and system architecture implementations
  • Good awareness of access security with knowledge of how to implement security policies, with a good understanding and knowledge of systems usability
  • Recent experience with server clustering technology, storage systems and backup systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience on administration of Windows and/or UNIX Operating Systems and Single Sign-On
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database Management Software
  • Sound experience in installation, tuning and monitoring of clustered Operating Systems (such as; Solaris, Windows, etc.) and network shared file systems
