Sapienza Consulting, a tpgroup company, is recruiting an Engineer to join NATO – NCIA in Brunssum, Limburg, Netherlands.

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time technical expertise to the ESOC, Duty Controller Officers (DCOs), Analysts and Technicians in maintaining the integrity of all assigned Information Systems and Services on the NATO Unclassified and NATO Secret Networks, ensuring that levels of service availability and quality are permanently met as agreed with NCI Agency customers
  • Monitor, control and conduct troubleshooting of all networks, in support of all NCI Agency customers throughout NATO
  • Administrates the associated data and services monitoring and control platforms for optimum performance for use by the NCC personnel
  • Co-ordination and provision of central support to internal and external Agencies to restore reach back capabilities for Mission, Operations and Exercises, as per availability and quality levels agreed with NCI Agency customers
  • Support Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management and Event Management processes for all NCIA assigned services to support operations and exercises
  • Ensuring the effective use of event management process and toolsets as required
  • Ensuring effective and timely resolution of IT Incidents:
    • impact assessment and prioritization of IT incidents
    • dispatching of incidents to the relevant technical elements for resolution
    • validation and verification of the solution proposed
  • Problem Management initiation, as required
  • Authorized Service Interruption / Scheduled Outage (ASI/SO) coordination, to minimize scheduled downtime and its effects of the Customer’s business
  • Utilises automatic data processing devices and tools within the ESOC and uses all available centralized service management tools
  • Provides co-ordination with the toolset managers ensuring that the tools are kept up to date and the customer support is optimised
  • Assists in the direction and co-ordination of corrective action to regional and other control activities in the event of failure or degradation in any of the networks/systems/services
  • Follow senior guidance and established processes, co-operating when requested, with other Functional Areas (FA) within the ESOC to develop and improve these processes
  • Participate in development and delivery of required on-the-job training to junior technicians, and responsible for ensuring that NCC technical staff assigned to FA hold appropriate skills required to perform tasks at the appropriate level
  • Monitoring and ensuring the effectiveness of TAS (time accounting system) and ensuring this is performed by assigned staff in accordance with Agency Directives
  • Work on own initiative
  • Deputize for higher grade staff, if required
  • Performs other duties as may be required.

Profile

  • Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
  • A minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a related discipline and 2 years post-related experience
  • Or exceptionally, the lack of a university degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency, that is, at least 6 years of extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post.

  • ITIL V3 Service Operations certificate
  • Very good understanding of telecommunications / network /collaboration/ information technology solutions & products
  • CCNA Certificate
  • ITIL Service Transition
  • ITIL Continual Service Improvement
  • Prince2 Foundation certificate
  • Service operations and service management skills and experience based on ITIL principles and following a customer/user focused approach and the use of related toolsets (e.g. ITSM)
  • Technical leadership experience
  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT
