Sapienza Consulting, a tpgroup company, is recruiting an Engineer (Voice) to join NATO – NCIA in Wesel, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery of 3rd level technical support for Voice Services in NATO deployable systems
  • Performs fault diagnosis using the Voice Management System
  • Supervises and carries out routine maintenance of Voice infrastructure, management appliances and other NATO Voice equipment
  • Maintain and update call routing settings and display
  • Completes any changes to the system documentation
  • Completes backups and restores of Voice core devices; Call Managers, Management Appliances, Session Border Controllers across a wide area network
  • Supervises the work undertaken by the level 1 and level 2 Voice Technicians
  • Performs remote fault diagnosis on Call Managers, Session Border Controllers and Gateways as required
  • Deputize for higher grade staff
  • Performs other duties as may be required

Profile

  • CTS CLEARANCE REQUIRED, however, the future incumbent can start on NS clearance so long as they are currently going through the process of gaining CTS clearance and ideally close to gaining it
  • A Master of Science (MSc) degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a technical subject with substantial Information and Communications Technology (ICT) content and 2 years post-related experience
  • Ora Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree at a nationally recognised/certified University in a technical subject with substantial ICT content and 4 years post related experience
  • The lack of a university/college degree may be compensated by the demonstration of a candidate’s particular abilities or experience that is/are of interest to NCI Agency; that is, at least 10 years extensive and progressive expertise in the duties related to the function of the post
  • At least two years’ operation and configuration experience of Cisco Call Managers, Call Managers Express and Voice Gateways
  • At least two years’ operation and configuration experience of Cisco Unified Border Elements
  • Minimum qualification of CISCO Certified Network Associate Voice (CCNA Voice) or equivalent
  • Collaborate with vendors and resident engineering and operations staff to achieve system performance objectives
  • Very good knowledge of protocols and standards utilized in VoIP and Unified Communications; SIP, TLS, MGCP, H.323, RTP (incl. G.711, G.729 codecs), and other similar standards
  • Experience in utilizing of vendor’s toolkits for collection of maintenance data, and ability to analyse them for both: service improvement and troubleshooting purposes
  • Experience with virtualization technologies
  • Experience in customer support, user incident handling
  • Experience of preparing technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures
