Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a System Administrator with “Microsoft COTS” specialisation to join NATO – NCIA in Geilenkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Responsibilities

The HQ is looking for someone to support their process of accrediting a large number of software applications and systems. They have a large number to tackle, plus new capabilities come online all the time. The specific tasks identified for the role, and associated skill/knowledge requirements, are as follows:

• Perform daily maintenance on the Microsoft SharePoint farms to ensure a stable, secure, fast and “healthy” SharePoint farm
• Perform both SharePoint front-end (web) and back-end (MS SQL Server) maintenance
• Enable/Disable SharePoint features and provide full technical and knowledge support on the usage of the SP features
• Tune the SharePoint farm for fast response times
• Ensure Backup and Recovery of the SharePoint farm up to item level
• Install, Maintain and tune MS SQL server instances
• Ensure Backup and Recovery of MS SQL Server instances
• Install, Maintain and tune CIS applications based on MS Windows Server operating system and MS SQL Server
• Cooperate with team colleagues and share knowledge
• Participate in analysis of causes and incidents of IT Service failures (including IT System trouble-shooting) and effecting appropriate action to correct problems
• Provide support needed to ensure the continuous availability of all required software application functionalities
• Comply and apply configuration control and enhance documentation
• The successful candidate will work on site at NAEWC & Force HQ in Geilenkirchen under the direction of the Head of the CIS Support Squadron or designated Section Chief

• NATO Secret security clearance

Requested skills, competencies and toolset knowledge:

• Expert knowledge of SharePoint farm administration with profound level skills on SharePoint SharePoint 2016
• Expert knowledge on the installation of Updates and Patches on the Microsoft Server operating System, MS SQL Server environments and MS SharePoint farm.
• Profound knowledge on Microsoft PowerShell
• Profound knowledge on Microsoft SQL Server 2014 and higher
• Profound knowledge on Microsoft SQL Server High Availability
• Profound Knowledge of Windows Server 2012R2; Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2019, Active Directory, DNS management; Group policy management
• Profound knowledge on scripting (Bash, MS command line, PL/SQL, Powershell)

Desirable Specific Experience:

• Expertise in Veritas Backup software
• Profound knowledge on scripting (Bash, MS command line, PL/SQL, Powershell)
• Knowledge in the installation, administration and Tuning of Microsoft SharePoint 2019
• Knowledge in the administration of the OpenText eDOCS Document Management System
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert SharePoint

Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated knowledge and experience of NAEW&C Force CIS Squadron organisation, procedures and IT Systems.

Preference will also be given to candidates with a demonstrated knowledge and experience on SharePoint farm migration.

Deployment Requirements: The incumbent is not planned to forward deploy to NAEW&C Force Forward Operating or Logistics bases.

On Call Requirements: The incumbent is not required to provide on-call support

Special Work hours: The incumbent is required to work outside regular business hours (including weekends) to perform software maintenance on the systems and servers managed by the section to which he/she is assigned

The contractor will be responsible for complying with the respective national requirements for working permits, visas, taxes social security etc. whilst working on site at NAEW&CF, Geilenkirchen, DEU . No special status is either conferred or implied by the host organisation, NAEW&C Force on to the contractor whilst working on site.
