Sapienza Consulting is recruiting an Instructor for Information Systems DII to join NATO – NCIA in Oeiras, Lisbon, Portugal.

Responsibilities

  • As directed, shall lead and participate in all relevant training delivery and planning initiatives, providing advice in support of Academy Chain of Command
  • Lead and manage all assigned training to the area of expertise
  • Schedule classes and allocate instructors and resources to ensure that training delivery is timely and within quality standards
  • Delivery of theoretical and practical training on assigned systems and associated equipment
  • Delivery of training in other courses in the team’s area of expertise
  • Organize and delivery of training as member of a deployed, Mobile Training Team (MTT) where required
  • Prepare and conduct students’ assessments
  • Maintain training systems and associated equipment, including Preventive Maintenance Inspections
  • Assist in the preparation and update of course material
  • May be required to represent the Organization in meetings, workshops, conferences and external events
  • Install, maintain, support fault-finding, and operate the training system and associated user equipment, assigned to him/her
  • May be required to visit NATO exercises deploying assigned DCIS to keep related experience up-to-date
  • Performs other duties as may be required

Profile

The incumbent should have the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • The candidate must have a NATO SECRET security clearance
  • Sound understanding of Microsoft Servers deployment and administration (Exchange, SharePoint, etc)
  • Excellent virtualization knowledge (VMWare), Security Policy implantation tools (McAfee ePolicy)
  • Good cyber security foundational knowledge and IP Services implementation (DHCP, DNS, NTP, etc)
  • Some networking background (CCNA) and ITIL familiarity
  • Previous DCIS military background will be a distinct asset
  • Supervisory experience on successfully leading a technical team
  • Sound technical knowledge of latest virtualization technologies, Linux (Red Hat/Ubuntu), DNS, GPO, updating and patching systems
  • Good knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack and associated network infrastructure
  • Knowledge of ITIL IT service management principles

 

Education:

  • University Degree preferably in computer science, engineering disciplines, statistics or similar numerate discipline and 4 years post related experience or Higher Secondary education and completed advanced vocational training in a related discipline leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation with 5 years post related and 2 years functional related experience

 

Desirable Experience and Education:

  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT
  • Sound technical knowledge comparable to the following certifications: MCSA/MCSE, VMWare VCP, CCNA
  • Good understanding of one or more of the following will be considered a distinct asset: Ansible, McAfee ePolicy, MS SharePoint, MS Exchange
  • Formal ITIL Certification in Service Operation
  • Good knowledge of Scripting (PowerShell) and network automation tools
