Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Senior OBIA Implementation Engineer and Developer to join NATO – NCIA in Mons, Belgium.

Responsibilities

  • Providing and maintaining a detailed project implementation plan to implement Oracle Business Intelligence Applications (OBIA), extracting data mainly from our Oracle E-Business Suite
  • Defining all tasks and activities. Track and report on their individual statuses
  • Installing and configuring OBIA and the following Oracle Analytics packs: Enterprise Asset Management Analytics and Supply Chain and Order Management Analytics
  • Identifying, troubleshooting and proposing solutions for data or setup related issues at the source (mainly Oracle E-Business Suite)
  • Organising workshops and working with various stakeholders when necessary
  • Documenting work done. Creating detailed installation, setup and configuration guides
  • Creating working documents like Standard Operating Procedures, coding standards, test scenarios, FAQ’s, release notes
  • Extending various COTS OBIA components (both in ODI & BI repository) in a supported and sustainable manner
  • Providing training sessions and/or handover to supporting staff and the power/key users
  • Creating the necessary training material
  • Providing early life support
  • Being responsible for the assigned business applications and services
  • Providing 2nd and 3rd line support to the assigned business applications, by responding to service requests, investigating and resolving incidents and problems, communicating solutions or advices to customers and users on changes and improvements based on best business practices
  • Contributing to the gathering, analysis, setup, design and documentation of new requirements and change requests
  • Developing and reviewing documentation such as requirements definitions, functional and technical design documents, systems specifications or other deliverables
  • Providing time estimates for the development and implementation of new requirements
  • Ensures full lifecycle tests of requests for change before they are presented to the user for user acceptance testing
  • Active contribution to relevant projects or service operation across Service Lines where integration is required
  • Participating/attending job-related conferences and trainings in order to keep the knowledge and expertise up-to-date
  • Providing briefings and presentations
  • Performing other duties as may be required

Profile

Essential skills and knowledge:

  • The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance
  • Proven track record of multiple, successful implementations of OBIA in recent years with strong proficiency in all aspects of implementing BI applications, from solution design & configuration to administration & deployment
  • Familiarity with both Agile & Waterfall methodologies
  • Being able to define & maintain a project implementation plan for OBIA. Working closely with the Project Manager & Business Change Manager & being able to identify & prioritize tasks to meet the agreed goals & objectives
  • Working closely & hosting workshops with various stakeholders & teams (power users, business analysts, SME’s developers, testers, IaaS/PaaS teams…)
  • Minimum of 5 years recent practical experience with Oracle BI Enterprise Ed. (OBIEE) 11g or higher, demonstrating a 24 months sustained period of performance on the previous 2 most recent assignments
  • Hands-on installation & configuration of: all components of OBIA version 11.1 (with ODI), all components of OBIEE version 11g+, all components of ODI (11g or 12c)
  • 3 years recent, practical experience with implementing one or more (we might combine multiple candidates to cover the whole range of modules) of the following OBIA packs: Enterprise Asset Management Analytics; Supply Chain and Order Management Analytics using Oracle EBusiness Suite (EBS) as a data source
  • Experience of writing detailed technical docs based on functional design docs
  • Configuring & extending these COTS OBIA packs in a supported & sustainable manner
  • Extensive practical experience in developing, configuring and/or customizing the integration & ETL solutions as delivered by OBIA, using ODI; investigating issues including data analysis; scheduling & performance tuning of the integrations
  • Minimum of 4 years current, detailed & relevant knowledge of & experience with EBS 12.1.3 (or higher) and a good understanding of its data model, as this will be the main data source for OBIA
  • Identifying & addressing data quality or setup/configuration issues at the data source (mainly Oracle EBS) that might arise during implementation
  • Detailed knowledge & experience with OBIEE development, including but not limited to:
    • Deep understanding of dimensional modelling, data warehouse design, data quality assessment, performance assessment & improvement
    • Working with OBIEE admin tool
    • Working with three layers of RPD ( Physical, BMM & Presentation Layer)
    • Performance tuning of OBIEE application at repository level
    • Security Implementation of OBIEE repository level
    • OBIEE Report Development, Dashboard development, utilization of Agents, shared filters, cascading filters, use of presentation layer variables in, PL/SQL Development, SQL Performance Tuning
    • Developing analytics report using OBIEE
    • Repository development & Data Modeling in OBIEE & OBIA
    • Oracle Data Visualizer

Desirable skills and knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of the Oracle Unified Method or the Oracle Application Implementation Methodology
  • Functional knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
  • Minimum of 3 years recent, practical experience with implementing one or more of the following OBIA packs: Financial Analytics, Project Analytics, Procurement & Spend Analytics, Human Resources Analytics
  • Hands-on implementation experience with: high availability architecture & SSO & multiple authentication providers
  • Recent experience of working in NATO
  • Willing to work flexible working hours
  • Basic SQL & SQL*Plus knowledge
  • Familiarity with configuration management / versioning procedures & tools
  • Able to work under pressure, on own initiative & without constant supervision, to strict tight deadlines
  • A good team player & good communicator.
  • Experience of working in a team that delivers a highly available service.
  • English proficiency level: SLP 3333 according to STANAG 6001.
