Sapienza Consulting is recruiting an Engineer (CIS) to join NATO – NCIA, at Brussels, Belgium.

Responsibilities

Under guidance of Head, CIS Service Design Team you will:

  • Provide expertise in area of design and analysis of CIS architectures, equipment, and system technical specifications to meet approved requirements, including security-related requirements
  • Provides technical solution proposals for development of new or replacement CIS architecture, mainly infrastructure and security related
  • Provide engineering evaluations and recommendations in CIS architecture/design of existing communications and IT equipment, and provides advice and assistance to resolve technical problems related operational and systems integration requirements
  • Ensure inventory and versioning control of architectures and designs of CIS, mainly of network infrastructure and related applications and data, including custodian of repository and access to
  • Manage, plan and supervise coordination and review process for CIS architecture/design, including upgrade of network infrastructure and related applications and systems
  • Engage with relevant NATO HQ bodies, NCIA bodies and others as needed on matter relating to support on network and application system issues which affect operation and maintenance of CIS environments, including staging, pre-production and production environments
  • Coordinate and support design, plan, and test of implementation of network infrastructures and related applications and data, including security aspects
  • Provide support for design and implementation of network monitoring tools, applications, and dashboards for Operations & Control and Alerts
  • Coordinate discussion and elaboration of technical and security details of required solutions, in close coordination of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
  • Prepare written technical documentation throughout planning and implementation of CIS initiatives
  • Work in close coordination of CSU CIS Security Officer and CIS Security Principal Assistant as part of CIS SD Team
  • Work in close coordination and support activity of CIS Service Transition Team, which is part of SMB. Represent Service Design (SD) Team on appropriate meetings and working groups
  • Report to Service Design (SD) Team Head. Perform any other duty as required

Profile

  • University Degree and 3 years function related experience or Higher Secondary Education and completed advanced vocational training leading to professional qualification or professional accreditation with 4 years post related experience.
  • General experience in all lifecycle aspects of Communication Information Systems (CIS) aimed at achieving effective system development and deployment
  • Sound technical knowledge on wide area networks and local area networks
  • Ability to manage, coordinate and supervise with leadership skills
  • Experience in development and use of Information Technologies (e.g. servers, switches, web technologies, encryption equipment, etc.). This must include range of activities involved in planning, organizing, coordinating, and assessing CIS related activities to accomplish assigned functions and tasks
  • Detailed knowledge of CIS architectural design as applied to computer systems
  • Experience in developing technical policy level documents; in CIS and in services management
  • Experience in implementing CIS security criteria and associated applications, assessing effectiveness of security software, resolving problems
  • Formal Project Management certification at foundation level (e.g. PMP or PRINCE2).
  • Formal ITIL certification at least at foundation level
  • Experience with MS Office Suite and Visio.
  • 3-5 years experience (depending on educational background/degrees) in project management (preference PRINCE2) and technical coordination of engineering projects in areas of requirements specifications, architectural design, development, implementation, test and evaluation.
  • Ability to work in team environments (both as contributor and coordinator)
  • Analytical, problem solving and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent business English; knowledge of another NATO member-state language is an asset
  • Must hold NATO Security Clearance
