Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Senior Assistant (Security) to join NATO – NCIA, at the Hague, the Netherlands.

Responsibilities

With guidance from Agency Security Manager (ASM), incumbent will perform duties such as following:

  • Undertake daily administration of Hague Security Office
  • Provide advice and support on implementation of NATO Directive on Classified Project and Industrial Security
  • Manage and maintain Agency Personnel Security files ensuring that all The Hague personnel have a level of security clearance appropriate for the post they are required to fill
  • Manage requests for initial and renewal applications for personnel security clearances
  • Issue and control AMIS Identity Cards and Security Passes
  • Liaison with National Delegations & Security Authorities on Personnel Security Matters
  • Manage all security aspects associated with the ‘on and off boarding’ of Interim Workforce Capability employees
  • Coordinate security approvals for NCI Agency staff applications for issue of classified CIS
  • Provide advice and support in the areas of physical, personnel security and security of information
  • Ensure security functionalities within the EBA administrative systems are managed, maintained and relevant
  • Assist in maintenance of local Security Education Programme and issue of Security Education Notices
  • Attend Security Management Workshops, courses, meetings as required
  • Deliver initial and final Security Briefings for arriving and departing building occupants
  • Issue Requests For Visits and Attestations for visits by Agency personnel
  • Manage and mentor subordinate staff; supporting training, development, administrative, welfare and morale issues
  • Deputize for higher grade staff, if required
  • Perform any other duties as may be required

Profile

  • Vocational training at a higher administrative level in a relevant discipline, leading to a professional qualification, or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience – with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • At least 5 years’ relevant security/police experience, with some supervisory responsibility
  • Knowledge and effective use of personal computers and office automation
  • Self-motivated with well-developed interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Ability to express oneself clearly orally and in writing and able to understand and implement verbal/ written instructions
  • Ability to take initiative and to work in an orderly and methodical way with good administrative skills
  • Experience and skills in supervision of staff
  • Good standard of physical fitness, appearance and bearing
  • Ability to write clear reports in English
  • Must hold NATO Security Clearance
  • Fluent business English; knowledge of another NATO member-state language is an asset
