Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Windows Engineer to work at NCIA in Mons, Belgium

Responsibilities

As Windows Engineer, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting configuration and administration of CSSL Windows-based systems and subsystems. Windows Engineer will provide also on-site installation, updates, migration and support of Microsoft based infrastructures (computers/server/ networks) on NATOs assets on remote sites around the world, known as ‘Tier 3’ sites, carrying out any troubleshooting associated. Windows Engineer reports to the Head, Platform and Infrastructure Management Section and will work with engineers within Infrastructure Branch.

Main responsibilities, but are not limited to the following:

  • Organizes and directs the configuration, operation, and security of CSSL Windows-based systems
  • Support the Initiation, preparation, follow-up and defence of the specialist applications upgrades in front of the Change Management Board
  • Manages the daily activities of CSSL configuration, operation, and security of Windows systems and performs capacity analysis and planning
  • Conducts capacity and performance analysis, and provides system configuration change and upgrade recommendations based on obsolescence and/or security needs
  • Maintains servers, creates monitoring reports and logs and ensures the functionality of Windows-based systems in different locations (Tier-2 and Tier-3 locations)
  • Secures server infrastructure by identifying and resolving vulnerabilities within stated timeframes
  • Performs multiple tasks concurrently and responds to emergency situations effectively
  • Identify issues and create improvement processes to help with the reduction of incidents/outage times

Profile

  • Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
  • Fluent English; knowledge of another NATO member-state language is an asset
  • Essential to have Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science combined with a minimum of 5 years’ experience as Windows Engineer or similar position, or a Secondary education and completed advanced vocational education (leading to a professional qualification or professional accreditation) with 7 years post related experience
  • Demonstrated experience in the following areas:
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience administering large, complex Windows applications and/or as an Active Directory Domain Administrator
    • Experience developing and maintaining windows platform for the server as a host, connected with multiple clients
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft technologies, including: Microsoft Server (2016/2019), Microsoft Windows (Win10), Microsoft Exchange Server 2016/2019, Microsoft Terminal Services/Remote Desktop Services, Virtualisation (Preferably VMWare)

 

Desirable

  • Up to date, relevant Microsoft Certification – MCSE / MCSA
  • Experience in defining, implementing and validating NCIA CSSL security settings
  • Industry-leading certification in the area of Cybersecurity such as CISSP, CISM, MCSE/S, CISA, GSNA, SANS GIAC
  • A solid understanding of Information Security Practices; relating to Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability of information (CIA triad)
  • Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
