Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Scientific and Programme Assistant to work at NATO NCIA in Mons, Belgium.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general support to project management teams including project administration and organization
  • Assist in organization and coordination of meetings with sponsors, project teams and/or contractors, including preparation, facilitation, and record-keeping of programme and project meetings, minutes, decisions and actions
  • Execute configuration and maintenance activities of internal and external project collaboration portals and associated information, including project documentation, project information and logs
  • Support in the proofreading and revision of project documentation and technical reports
  • Assist in day-to-day project management activities, including maintenance of project plans, maintenance of project logs/notebooks,management of documentation, and maintenance of programme agendas
  • Assist project execution teams dealing with wireless-related topics with execution of technical work, including, but not limited to, performing technical tasks, elaborating technical diagrams, drafting of technical documents and presentations, and liaising with project stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as may be required

Profile

  • Required Security Clearance: NATO Secret
  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree at a reputable university in a related subject with 3 years post related experience; Or, exceptionally, the lack of a degree may be compensated by a lower academic qualification combined with demonstration of particular abilities or experience of relevance to this post
  • Configuration and implementation of tactical/mobile wireless systems or networks in military and/or civil contexts
  • Wireless communications systems both at the physical layer and at system level, including protocols and wireless technologies
  • Knowledge of current wireless communications technologies
  • Radio wave propagation in VHF to SHF bands
  • System engineering/configuration of complex mobile/tactical communications systems
  • Tactical waveform development
  • Writing of technical documentation, including document management techniques and tools
  • Experience in using computer tools to build bodies of knowledge and manage documentation, including Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft OneNote, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Visio
  • Experience in supporting ICT projects for large organizations
  • Experience in assisting project managers an in liaising on their behalf with project stakeholders;
  • Experience in supporting large teams and in organizing meetings and workshops with large audiences, including drafting minutes of meetings and record-keeping activities
  • Recognised track record in dealing with stakeholders, understanding their needs, problems and requests, and in following up with back-office teams
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively in English both in writing and orally with excellent writing skills

 

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience as follows:

  • Experience and knowledge of radio planning tools
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Visio
  • Fast keyboard typing skills (45 words per minute or faster)
  • Experience in contributing to multinational forums and/or working groups
  • Prior experience of working in an international environment
  • Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization
