Sapienza Consulting is recruiting a Geospatial Data Processing Scripting (Off-Site) to join NATO-NCIA.

Responsibilities

Geospatial Support Branch (GSB) team requires support of one off-site contractor for advanced geospatial data processing and scripting, covering following activities:

  • Georeferencing and orthorectification of satellite images and aerial photography
  • Enhanced satellite image and aerial photography processing
  • Fusion of imagery and creation of mosaics
  • Analysis of remotely sensed data
  • Conversion of a wide range of raster data to different formats and standards
  • Incorporation of various geospatial data into various geospatial databases, such as PostGIS or ArcGIS specific formats
  • Design of map production environment, most importantly to transform MGCP data into MDG/MTM
  • Workflow development of cartographic map and chart production, focussing on MDGs
  • Production of map series and individual charts
  • Design of quality assurance methods and quality control mechanisms
  • Scripting of workflows in python
  • Close coordination of all activities with the NCI Agency Project Manager (PM) as well as strict adherence to agreed timelines is mandatory
  • may be required to attend meeting(s) at NCI Agency, The Hague, Netherlands or at specific NATO commands.

Profile

  • Required Security Clearance: NATO SECRET (Desirable)
  • Formal degree on University Level or equivalent in Geospatial Sciences or related
  • Solid knowledge in Geographic Projections and Datums
  • At least 7 years of conceptual understanding of aerial photography and satellite imagery exploitation and processing experience with common sensors, such as Quickbird, Ikonos, WorldView, GeoEye, Landsat, Spot, Eros, Pleiades and aerial platforms
  • At least 7 years of experience with ERDAS Imagine and ER Mapper
  • At least 7 years of experience with Erdas Imagine Photogrammetry Core (before: LPS)
  • At least 5 years of experience in block-bundle ortho-rectification, image colour balancing and mosaicking with ERDAS Imagine and ER Mapper
  • Proven experience in workflow design and execution of advanced techniques to process a wide range of input data to CADRG standards, compliant with all relevant FASs
  • Experience in classification techniques for change detection and automated vector extraction
  • Solid knowledge of various compression formats (MrSID, ECW, etc.) with hands on production experience
  • At least 7 years of experience in terrain data processing
  • At least 7 years of experience with ArcGIS Software and GIS Analysis (ArcInfo, Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst)
  • Proven understanding of principles of databases and database management systems
  • Proven experience in working with geospatial data in geospatially enabled databases, mainly PostGIS
  • In depth familiarity with MGCP schema and data
  • Knowledge of Python language for scripting and batch processing
  • At least 3 years of proven experience in using python and arcPy including demonstrated familiarity with arcPy and its modules, classes and functions
  • At least 2 years of proven experience in integrating solutions in workflows using Python, combining with arcPy commands and integrating Python scripts in Esri toolboxes
  • Proven understanding of NATO Geospatial data standards
  • Proven understanding of geospatial data processing specific to NATO Exercise settings
  • Fluent in Business English
  • Good knowledge of at least 1 additional Geospatial raster processing software (PCI, ENVI, etc)
  • At least 1 year experience in GIS database management at project management level
  • Contractor is expected to provide and work with their own hardware and software necessary to meet requirements of each Task Order
