Our client is currently in an exciting early growth mode and we are looking to build out their sales team across the US and are in need of an experienced sales engineer who has a good understanding of Oil & Gas production.

We are looking for a business minded Sales Engineer to analyze and guide their technical sales in collaboration with sales directors, account managers, inside sales coordinators, as well as their technical team.

The incumbent will use your expertise to understand the company’s scientific processes and help sell their products and services, with a focus on generating business from both current and new customers while strengthening their external facing sales and marketing support infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an extensive knowledge of our clients products, services, functions, and processes and assisting to close sales where technical expertise may be required to fit the clients’ needs.
• Interfacing with key customers to develop technical collaborations and solutions
• Acting as a liaison between the sales and technical teams
• Collaborate with internal teams to define products and solutions that meet customer’s needs.
• Communicating scientific and technical products to clients of different backgrounds.
• Develop new business proposals for data, capability, and system deliveries and the coordination of this activity with the respective stakeholders.
• Keeping up on trends, changes, and competitor actions.
• Sales and marketing channel maintenance – work with the Sales Director and VP Sales & Marketing to maintain and grow sales and marketing network, both within your region or sector, and across the business.
• Travel locally and internationally (average 1 week per month) for conferences, meetings, etc. (COVID-19 restrictions apply).

Profile

• Technical understanding of satellite remote sensing
• Demonstrated ability to learn complex technical systems such as imaging spectroscopy, and to explain complex technology both to scientists and to non-technical people
• High attention to technical details with the ability to write directly and succinctly
• Strong client-facing interpersonal skills, including a good temperament
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization
• Flexibility, adaptability, autonomy, and multi-tasking ability
• Team player: collaborative and open

(Desired)

• Technical understanding of oil & gas operations, particularly regarding oil & gas production
• Understanding of the Greenhouse Gas emissions initiatives in industry and the value of emissions capture in the current environment
• Graduate degree in business, engineering, or sciences
• Entrepreneurial energy and determination
• Ability to work with team of highly qualified technical experts

Qualifications (Asset)
• Interest in scientific analysis and in atmospheric sciences

Background

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or sciences
• 5+ years of progressive experience in engineering sales
• Fluent in English, French an asset
• Must be US citizen
• Must be able to obtain security clearance
