About this job

Sapienza is working with one of the pioneers of microsatellite technology and the company aims to provide a new earth observation infrastructure by launching multiple micro-satellites for its higher data frequency. Having already successfully launched multiple satellites the company is still in growth mode and we are looking to hire an experienced Regional Sales Account Manager.

In this position, you will be responsible for the sales activities of the client’s image distribution platform service using satellite imagery and image analysis, mainly for corporate clients in Europe.

Responsibilities

  • Develop sales strategies for medium resolution satellite imagery and image analysis services in the assigned area
  • Prepare a list of customers by industry and tier in the assigned area, approach the potential customers, and propose services
  • Form partnerships with key companies to acquire customers and build a medium to long term sales partner network
  • Uncover needs by applying satellite imagery and image analysis as new and unprecedented business intelligence to various issues faced by companies and industries, and work with partners and internal engineers to create new value from existing products
  • Acquire contracts for our services and individual projects, and perform account management after closing deals
  • Report regularly to regional manager, share information with sales representatives in other regions, collect customer feedback and feed it back to product development, and contribute to raising the sales force and team building of the entire sales team
  • Plan and establish our first office in Europe, and its Team as revenue streams are built up enough to support having dedicated office and the team

Profile

  • Mandatory:
  • 3-5 years or more experience in overseas corporate sales of satellite imagery or GIS related products & services in Europe/UK
  • Knowledge of remote sensing and GIS
  • Business expertise in the industry of customers where satellite imagery will be used
  • Experience in working creatively with key accounts from customers and partner companies in your area
  • Enthusiasm and interest in developing markets with new services and establishing business presence in designated territory, and a desire to take on challenges
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Strong documentation and presentation skills
  • Ability to maintain self-motivation in a small team environment with little control over remote work, etc. and be able to achieve steady results toward the ultimate sales goal while completing daily tasks
  • Ability to daily use the following IT tools to maintain transparent sales operations and communications: salesforce SaaS, online communication tools, and cloud-based production tools (e.g., Google Workspace)
  • To conform to space technology export regulations, you must be a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the European countries or eligible to obtain the required authorization from appropriate authorities
  • Favorable:
  • Knowledge of how to leverage satellite imagery using relatively new IT technologies (e.g., machine learning such as Deep Learning)
  • Experience in running a start-up company, starting a business, or establishing an office of an international business in the country
