Sapienza Consulting, a Serco company, is working with many exciting new ventures around the world involved with innovative New Space technologies surrounding earth observation.

We are seeking an expert in image registration to join our growing team. In this role, you will lead the effort on image registration, working with scientists and software developers to enhance and augment our operational image registration algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Lead the effort on registration of satellite and aircraft imagery
• Maintain and improve the currently operational image registration algorithms
• Prototype, develop and evaluate alternative image registration algorithms to improve client’s products
• Engage collaboratively with client’s teams (in particular the Science and Software Teams) to define requirements for new image registration tools and to suggest improvements to existing image registration tools
• Keep abreast of cutting edge advances in the field of image registration

Profile

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience with monocular visual-inertial odometry, image registration and image stabilization
• Master of Science in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Image Processing, Robotics or related field
• Demonstrable experience with intensity-based image registration methods
• Python, C and C++ programming experience
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must obtain Controlled Goods Program security clearance

Good to have:

• Experience optimally fusing and attitude and position data from noisy sub-systems such as GPS and IMUs
• Experience with program optimization via design/algorithmic optimization, code vectorization and multicore/GPU programming
• Experience contributing to a large, constantly evolving codebase
