Sapienza Consulting, a Serco company is working with many exciting new ventures around the world involved with innovative New Space technologies surrounding earth observation.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for Test Specialist. Reporting to the Test Team Lead, our client is looking for an innovative test specialist with hands-on experience working with flight hardware. In this role, you will be writing test plans and procedures based on customer requirements, testing electronics, developing test scripts, and executing automated tests. You will also design and build your own EGSE, harnesses, as well as solder small components on circuit boards. Depending on the projects, you may also travel to various test facilities as required to conduct on-site qualification and acceptance tests of flight hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Development and execution of functional test plans and procedures
  • Integration of test hardware; flight and engineering models with associated EGSE
  • Development of test scripts based on functional requirements
  • Test automation, and development of test applications written in Python
  • Conduct on-site thermal environmental testing as formal verification for new designs, and acceptance testing of build quality for existing designs
  • Visual inspection of hardware in preparation for shipping to customers or subcontractors
  • Designing custom test hardware such as harnesses, mechanical enclosures, mounting plates for various customer applications
  • Documentation of test results
  • Support environmental verification testing (vibration, TVAC, radiation, etc.) at specialized subcontracted facilities
  • Quality assurance associated with test, software, and logic

Profile

You should have experience with:

  • Requirement verification and validation
  • Aerospace assembly, integration, and test (AIT)
  • Programming languages: Python, shell
  • Test framework: RobotFramework
  • Proficiency using Linux
  • Version control: Git

Nice to have experience with:

  • Environmental testing: Vibration, thermal vacuum (TVAC), radiation, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • PCB manufacturing process
  • Gitlab
  • Digital Electronics (FPGA, Processors, RAM, NOR, NAND)
  • Aerospace: Integration & Test (I&T), Requirement Verification and Validation (V&V)
  • Hardware: Benchtop power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, data acquisition systems, logic analyzer, signal generator, thermal chambers
  • CAD: Solidworks, Solid Edge, Catia
  • Misc: Soldering, Harnessing

Your background:

  • 6+ years experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Aerospace or equivalent level of education
  • Must be able to obtain Canadian government security clearance (Canadian Controlled Goods Program)
