Sapienza Consulting, a tpgroup company is working with many exciting new ventures around the world involved with innovative New Space technologies surrounding earth observation.

On behalf of our client, we are looking for IT Specialist who will help take state-of-the-art FPGA computing platforms beyond the earth’s atmosphere and possibly to the surface of other worlds. Clients’ technology leverages open-source tools and infrastructure for reliable performance, then extends them with robust layers to help customers’ applications operate where no Linux devices have been before. You will be working with satellite payloads, science instruments, and vision processing algorithms.

Responsibilities

As IT Specialist, you will play a key role to the success of Xiphos Systems Corporation. You will lead all activities in the maintenance and growth of their IT system.

  • Upgrading and maintaining the company IT infrastructure
  • Ensuring employee accounts are updated and maintained
  • Resolving employee and customer IT-related issues
  • Continuously monitoring backups and ensuring that the recovery works
  • Planning, executing, and documenting the installation of new servers and services required by the team
  • Managing customer-facing in-cloud IT services
  • Generating long-term security strategy and associated implementation plan
  • Planning and implementing data loss prevention measures
  • Configuring technical security controls
  • Ensuring that the company implements proper safeguards to meet compliance requirements (CGP, AS9100)
  • Protect the office and remote computer systems by creating barriers deterring external access to them
  • Recognising problems within systems by identifying uncharacteristic activity Interacting with the software and test teams to improve the production quality and efficiency
  • Take part in the continuous improvement and application of QA and development processes
  • Develop embedded software within the scope of the Software Team (i.e. for embedded space processing systems)
  • Develop test script within the scope of the Test Team

Profile

  • Configuring Linux servers and desktop machines (bash, systemd, sshd)
  • Experience with SAMBA(cifs) and NFS file systems
  • IP network configurations, router configuration and configuration of the following services: DNS servers, DHCP servers, VPN server (OpenVPN), Firewall (iptables)
  • Backups
  • E-Mail server configuration
  • Encryption (openSSL, LUKS)

  • LDAP server/client
  • RADIUS/PAM
  • Multi-factor authentication (Oauth, SAML, FIDO)
  • Python programming
  • Xen/XCP-ng VM servers
  • Office365 administration
  • Git and Gitolite server configuration
  • Apache
  • Digital document signatures

Your background:

  • University studies in a field related: Information Technologies/Cybersecurity/Computer Networking/Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Software Engineering
  • 5+ years experience
  • Must be able to obtain Canadian government security clearance
  • You are self-motivated and can operate with minimal direction
  • Must be a strong communicator and comfortable in support roles with customers
  • Experienced in technical leadership and coaching
  • Bilingual (oral and written French and English)
