Sapienza, a Serco company, has helped to build from the ground up dozens of NewSpace ventures across Europe. We are continuously seeking all levels of engineers for our customers. One of the most exciting NewSpace start-ups in the Czech Republic has partnered with Sapienza to do exactly that.

Our client, is looking for a Space Structures Engineer to join their team in Brno, Czech Republic. They were founded with the sole purpose to bring together the best experts, engineers and scientists in the Czech Republic and to work on great things with the aim to be a global company which as a system integrator delivers complete missions.

They have their own products which they sell worldwide. They connect industry, academia and science centres not only from CZ but also from other countries in central and eastern Europe. We partnered for one common goal: to collect geological data and uncover the unknown about the Moon surface and subsurface. Results of such a joint work will land on the Moon together with the Czech flag. The flag is a symbol representing the fact that countries form central and eastern Europe can do great missions and be part of the space first league.

They work on two EO satellites and one Moon probe. They have hyperspectral camera, Lidar, SAR and a new generation of laser based communication platform in development. They try to get to the bottom of quantum encrypting. They digitize agriculture by using a stratospheric platform using AI data processing. They 3D print satellite structures. And that is just a small example of their work.


  • Perform mechanical analysis of spacecraft structures
  • Analyse (with FEM) resistance of the spacecraft structures against mechanical and thermo-elastic loads
  • Define mechanical tests, supervise their execution and evaluate their results
  • Evaluate and implement technical requirements from contractors
  • Define technical requirements for sub-contractors
  • Cooperate with mechanical designers and other engineers in order to develop a complete product


  • 3+ years’ experience in structures engineering
  • MSc in Aircraft/ Space engineering, Engineering Mechanics or equivalent
  • Interest in subjects like math, physics, statics, dynamics and strength of the structures
  • Familiar with finite element method (FEM)
  • Actively using some of the analysis software (Ansys, Nastran, Abaqus or others)
  • Passive or active skills in programming
  • Writing a creative master thesis (analysis oriented)
  • Fluent English
  • Genuinely interested in aviation and space
