Sapienza is looking to hire a Payload Manager who will be responsible for identification, implementation and coordination of payloads, with a primary focus on optical sensors and communication antennas. The tasks will include a close relationship with technical stakeholders as well as the business development team, in order to showcase the full range of technical opportunities of the payloads.

Responsibilities

  • Work with customers and key stakeholders on defining and interpreting user requirements.
  • Work with sub-contractors and suppliers in order to establish realistic requirements, design and adapt payloads to user requirements.
  • Assist in assembly, integration and verification.
  • Analyse technical data on available hardware and help the team make informed decisions in regards to available operational and commercial areas.
  • Computational analysis of remote sensing through an implementation of software image recognition or similar.
  • Develop plans for integration of payload, including working with system engineers to ensure redundancy, safety and full utilization of payloads at any point in time.
  • Identify opportunities and limitations in the existing catalogue of hardware, in order to help guide the team in future commercial decisions.
  • Work with customers to translate user requirements into realistic performance expectations.

Profile

  • At least 5-10 years proven experience in aerospace environments, preferably optical as well as telecom.
  • Exceptional understanding of electrical engineering, applied physics and mathematics as they relate to satellite communications systems.
  • Proven knowledge about competitive industries like drones and satellites.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and Project Workflow Management.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken is essential.
  • A self-starting, hands-on collaborative style of working is a must.
  • Proven project management skills, including planning, organizing, prioritizing, delegating and supervising.
  • Strong ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve critical situations.
  • Ability to react calmly under pressure.
  • Ability to cope with changing circumstances and situations with little supervision.
  • Tact, diplomacy and a high degree of integrity
  • Can be based remotely in Europe or the US.
