Sapienza Consulting, a tpgroup company, is recruiting a Cloud Service Engineer for Sapienza to work on our Customers Site (ESA-ESTEC).

Sapienza has been a partner of ESA for almost 30 years, and we pride ourselves in supporting a wide range of missions including Galileo, MTG, Copernicus and ExoMars. Our team is international with activities across the U.K., the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Italy and Spain.

Responsibilities

Provide support to the Agency’s esacloud projects.

Specific tasks int the area of on boarding and support to end users:

  • Provide technical support to the HIF adoption teams and new users on the ESA-Cloud service portfolio and advise which service best suits the customer needs
  • Provide support to customers to Deploy/Create vApps & VMs either using GOESA-Cloud or vCloud Director interface based on agreed customer needs from public catalogue templates provided media files upon request
  • Provide support to customers or their providers to install applications within dedicated VM’s or containers
  • Configure and modify VApp network settings based on customer needs
  • Restart VMs / vApps (in cooperation with end user) after incidents which resulted in a cloud platform unavailability
  • Modify VM resources not configurable through the goesacloud interface

 

  • Expertise and competences:
  • Understanding of cloud infrastructures and technologies, including containers
  • Experience on Automation and DevOps tools, e.g git, Ansible, Terraform
    Software development, Python, Go, TypeScript
  • Demonstrated use Web development technologies, both back-end and front end.
  • At least 5 years’ experience with service delivery in the areas of:
  • DevOps platforms (incl. CI/CD)
  • Automation through software development (front-end based on react)
  • API integrations
  • Independent with the ability to use own initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Strong focus on customer service

Profile

  • Hold a relevant technical qualification in the field of IT Systems or Network Engineering
  • ITIL Service Lifecycle Foundation, CNET Data Centre Certification would be an asset
  • Experience in the management, operation and maintenance of critical data center IT systems and understanding the full range of M&E equipment in a modern critical data center environment
  • At least 5 years’ experience with service delivery and management in the areas of:
    • Data Centers and Data Centre Infrastructure Management
    • Passive IT Infrastructures, Data Cabling Plants
    • Server, Storage and Networking Infrastructures
  • Professional and strategic approach to the management of works and projects
    Analytical skills to interpret client requirements and produce desired results
    Ability to work under pressure
  • Customer-focused and respectful to promote a healthy working relationship
    Promotes high level of team working and development of team spirit
    Sound knowledge of all aspects of Health & Safety
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of another ESA member-state language is an asset
