We are hiring an Expert IV&V Engineer to work for our customer EUMETSAT. The role is hybrid, with a certain amount of days spent on-site when necessary.

 

In this service, you will be providing Integration and Verification (I&V) support to a number of ground segments or sub-segments that are under the responsibility of EUMETSAT. It is anticipated that your first assignment will be to support the Sentinel-3 mission.

Sentinel-3 is a Low Earth Orbiting operational mission providing fast revisit land and ocean monitoring on a global basis, aimed at providing continuity of data for user services in response to the mission objectives and user requirements.

It is part of Copernicus, which is designed to provide an independent and operational information capacity to the European Union to warrant environment and security policies, as well as support sustainable economic growth.

Responsibilities

Service Management activities related to the planning and coordination of I&V tasks

Engineering activities for I&V, including:

  • Verification Control
  • Observing and analysis of IV&V tests run at segment and/or sub-segment level
  • Writing of integration and verification test specifications
  • Identification of test tools and test data needed
  • Write detailed test procedures based on initial test specifications and other relevant documents
  • Refine the test procedures and prepare them for execution
  • Set up the tools and refine the test data
  • Test procedure automation in automatic (non-regression) test-suites
  • Maintenance of automated test suites
  • Problem analysis and anomaly management
  • Contribute to or prepare the IV&V plans. Support our client’s team during the project reviews in relation to the I&V documentation (plans, VCD, RTS, etc.)

 

Execution of I&V activities, including:

  • Scheduling and execution of all I&V activities in coordination with our client
  • Ensuring relevant procedures, tools and data are ready for use
  • Organising and holding the corresponding Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)
  • Performing the I&V activities and testing according to plans (automated or manual), procedures and agreed analysis of the results/issues
  • Generating reports and anomaly reports when necessary
  • Organising and holding the TRR meetings
  • Maintenance of the relevant VCD and recording results of tests in DOORS and VERDI
  • Support the Anomaly Review Board (ARB) meetings (if applicable)

Liaising with our client’s teams for technical issues related to facilities, anomalies, resolutions and new releases

Profile

  • Master’s degree and at least 8 years of experience
  • Experience in I&V of complex systems
  • Requirements and verification management
  • Formal testing at component, facility and system level
  • Creation of suitable test cases, documentation and their execution
  • Experience in benchmarking and stress testing
  • Structured software development and verification
  • Software maintenance, performance monitoring
  • ECSS standards
  • Experience in operational environments under strict change control
  • Configuration control
  • Known applications on Near real-time, Earth observation data processing, archiving and distribution
  • Automated Testing
  • Requirements and verification management using DOORS and VERDI
  • Scripting languages in a Linux environment (Bash, Perl, Shell, Python, Ruby)
  • Operating systems: UNIX/Linux and Windows
  • Fluent in English

  • Relational databases: MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL
  • Networking: Internet protocols, TCP/IP programming, network monitoring
