Responsibilities

Launching rockets and operating satellites requires a symphony of multiple teams, multiple sites, and multiple complex systems working together towards mission success. Software drives every aspect of this, and Rocket Lab has a large number of complex software products. Working with Rocket Lab’s software team the Software QA Engineer will be responsible for coordination and execution of all aspects of software quality including standards, processes, testing, and configuration management.

Profile

You’ll have a software development background and be comfortable talking in depth with engineers regarding implementation details.

Essential skills

• Tertiary Diploma, Certificate or degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or demonstrated equivalent level of knowledge.
• Minimum of 6 years experience in a software development environment with major focus on software quality assurance.
• Experience with Redmine, Jira or other issue tracker
• Experience with Team City, Jenkins, GitLab CI or other build system.
• Experience with SQA of embedded and desktop software applications
• Use of C/C++ and/or Python for writing automated tests or tools
• Experience with Linux and Windows
• Experience with industry and regulatory software standards

Desirable skills

• Scrum
• Experience with web applications
• Network protocol experience
• Experience with development of embedded systems
