Responsibilities
The primary purpose of the role is the hardware electronics design during our launch vehicle development, which requires extensive analysis and testing of components iteratively. Be one of the first to get hold of our prototypes and help us push our launcher design forward as part of the avionics team, working closely with our teams for structural design and testing.
More specifically, you will:
- Work with our avionics team to conceptualise avionics enclosures through iterative design processes
- Design mechanical aspects of electronic components and subassemblies
- Design test setups and equipment
- Draft wiring schematics and harness assemblies
- Coordinate manufacturing / procurement of equipment
- Coordinate mechanical interfaces of the avionics with other subsystems
- Manage setup, instrumentation and conduction of experiments for frequency response, separation shocks, thermal stress and more
- Aggregate and evaluate gathered data and learnings
Profile
Musts:
- MSc in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or comparable
- Extensive knowledge in CAD and mechanical design
- Knowledge of various manufacturing methods (like Milling, Turning, 3-D Printing, CFRP layup, winding)
- Experience in structural, modal, vibrational and thermal analysis
- Experienced in shock and vibration testing and test data collection
- Passionate about new space, curious and eager to learn
- Driven to deliver and constantly push the boundaries
- Take ownership and accountability for your own actions and mistakes
- Humble and willing to go our of your way to help others
- Can-do attitude and outstanding communication skills
- Fluent English. German is highly preferred

- Experience with electronics-mechanical interface
- Experience with rapid prototyping
- Skills to determine and implement tolerance / fit & finish requirements
- Data analysis skills
- Experience with numerical simulation and validation
- German language skills
