Space Applications Services is a company based in the Brussels area (BE) that provides products and services for the space sector in many areas from Avionics, Robotics, Human Exploration, Science and Earth Observation. The successful candidate will join the Sentinels Expansion Operations Preparation System Service team, in support of pre-operational activities to the Mission Control Teams, linked to the evolution and new developments required within the Earth Observation FOS and in particular the Sentinel Expansion mission. The candidate will be based at our customer premises at the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Darmstadt, Germany. At Space Applications Services, the position is in the Services Department, Operations Team (comprises of 13 persons). The candidate will mainly report to the Operations Team Lead at Space Applications Services.

Responsibilities

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Ground Systems Pre-Operations Support
  • FOS Assembly, Integration and Validation pre-Operational Support
  • Space-to-Ground Interface(s) testing and validation pre-Operational Support

Profile

Qualifications and ExperienceThe candidate should have:

  • University degree or equivalent education in a relevant discipline
  • Good understanding and knowledge of:
    • EG(O)S-CC MCS based systems
    • Operational concepts linked to File Based Operations (FBO) and CFDP
  • At least 5 years of experience in providing expertise in support to, and integrating within Mission Control Teams for FOS development activities, from early requirements definition phase to A, I&V activities
  • Proven experience in the following area of:
    • Drafting and implementing FOS System Test Plans
    • S2K based Mission Control Systems, NDIU/GSTVu and MOIS
    • Working with ECSS PUS.
