Spacecraft Operations Engineer (m/f/d) – Mars Exploration Missions Operations
LSE Space GmbH is looking for an experienced Spacecraft Operations Engineer (SOE) to join our Mars Exploration Missions Operations Service team, based at the European Spacecraft Operations Centre (ESOC), in Darmstadt, Germany.
Services will be delivered to the Mars Exploration Missions Operations Unit (OPS-OPX) within the Solar System & Exploration Missions Division but with the possibility of supporting other missions within this division.
This position is based at ESOC in Darmstadt. It is full-time and permanent and expected starting date will be 01/05/2021 (flexibility can be granted).
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The general activities to be supported by this service are (depending on the mission):
• Tests Preparation and Execution;
• FOP Preparation;
• Mission Phase Definition;
• Mission Phase Execution (LEOP, Commissioning, Mars Arrival, Surface operations, etc.) ;
• Operations Supervision;
• Tools and FOP Maintenance;
• Anomaly Handling ;
• Validation and Deployment of Ground Systems updates;
• Management and coordination of internal mission interfaces;
• Mission Planning;
• On-Board Software Maintenance Support Service;
• Spacecraft Performance Analysis and Reporting.
• University degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Spacecraft subsystem knowledge DH/OBSM/AOCS/Power/Thermal/TTC/Payload;
• Experience in Ground Segment development and/or improvement activities in support of flight operations;
• Experience in activities applicable to spacecraft operations;
• Ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields (team player).
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience in the generation of nominal & contingency procedures;
• Familiarity with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS-2000;
• Familiarity with On-board SW (and OBCP development);
• Familiarity with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat;
• Familiarity with deep space missions;
• Familiarity with MOIS;
• Experience in testing and validation of ground segment systems;
• Familiarity with the ESOC environment.

• EU National;
